Director, Residential Sales - Central Region

Armstrong Flooring has an opportunity for a Director, Residential Sales. This position is responsible for the strategic planning, direction and coordination of sales efforts through independent distributor partners within the Central Region. The objective is to achieve or exceed budgeted sales, volume/mix, and profitability targets for the Residential business.
Key Responsibilities of the Director, Residential Sales – Central Region:
• Ensures top line growth, achieves sales budget with consistency, and provides accurate forecasts to the business.
• Develops and implements field sales strategies to deliver growth objectives for the assigned region. Performs business planning sessions and trade area reviews with distributor partners.
• Translates sales strategies into detailed plans, aligns with Product, Marketing and Channel objectives, and meets revenue and margin for targeted product categories.
• Actively engages across the organization as a functional sales management expert. Builds credibility, confidence and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders through regular and ongoing communication. Resolves customer and business issues. Performs root cause analysis and drives solutions as needed.
• Monitors customer, market and competitor activity, and provides feedback. Analyzes business trends in the region, and communicates market needs.
• Manages selling and customer program expenses to budgets.
Required Qualifications for the Director, Residential Sales – Central Region:
• Bachelor’s Degree with 10 or more years of experience in product sales with at least three years of experience in sales management.
• Leadership and management skills including the ability to plan, budget, influence, and report performance.
• Demonstrated ability to show initiative, exceed expectations, collaborate, and achieve business results.
• Technical skills in strategic sales management including:
◦ Developing effective business relationships
◦ Expertise in sales planning, project management and presentation development
◦ Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
◦ Delivering customer presentations, training and development
◦ Excellent business acumen – able to gather market competitive intel, translate it into actions, opportunities and forecasting
Desired Qualifications for the Director, Residential Sales – Central Region:
• MBA
• Proven experience managing product sales through a distributor network.
