ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Act as strategist ensuring project priorities are delivered on-time and with excellence;
• Evaluate inquiries or requests directed to the SVP of Field Operations and determine prioritization, proper course of action and align key cross-functional stakeholders;
• Coordinate the execution of strategic initiatives, projects or commitments directly impacting field supply chain operations. This responsibility primarily focuses on ensuring alignment among stakeholders;
• Proactively identify issues that could impact the successful execution of field supply projects and provide solutions to resolve the problem/mitigate the risk;
• Serves as a member of the Support Office Operations staff supporting the field operations. This will require travel to assigned divisions throughout the country;
• Collaborates with the RVPOs, Sr Director for Transportation and Warehouse Optimization, VP Safety, VP CI and the other functional leaders in corporate as well as area/region to coordinate initiatives to optimize division and region performance;
• The Sr. Director of Operations will play a role in assessing the operational needs of the assigned areas and communicating those needs to the various SMEs to define programs to address those needs;
• This position will work directly with RVPOs to identify short term support needs in local operations leaders to ensure flawless execution of plans and deployment;
• The Sr Director of Operations may be utilized in a support role for distribution centers to fill in for open positions, assist in special projects and participate in situations where Business Continuity needs are required;
• Collaborates with respective functional leaders, area, regional and support operation teams within the organization to grow sales and EBITDA. Keeping focus on employee safety, continuous improvement, environmental compliance, food safety and facility security;
• Reinforces and supports implementation of Support Office policy relating to field operations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Training:
• Bachelor’s Degree in supply chain or a related field required;
• Master's and/or MBA preferred.
Travel:
• Candidate must be willing to travel up to 40% and participate in extended assignments.
Related Experience:
• 10+ years of distribution experience with at least 5 years in a management capacity (managing either people or a function) required.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
• In-depth knowledge of distribution operations, preferably in the food service or transportation industry;
• Knowledge of warehousing, routing, transportation and inventory management systems required;
• Knowledge of federal, state and local regulations governing distribution operations;
• Has successfully worked in a complex organization which supports a variety of stakeholders and proven experience developing effective operations strategies to drive business success;
• Highly analytical with strong problem-solving skills;
• Requires proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint;
• Superior written/oral communications skills as well as presentation skills required;
• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization, as well as an ability to build relationships quickly with area leadership across all functions and influence;
• In addition, possess the ability to execute defined strategy determined for current deployment effectively and with high sense of urgency.
