POSITION SUMMARY STATEMENT:
The Director, Social Media will be responsible for setting the strategic direction of Herbalife Nutrition’s global strategy as it applies to our online communities. This role will be expected to work closely with senior management, corporate functions, regional teams and independent distributors to ensure Herbalife Nutrition's online presence reflects our brand and messages. It will be responsible for enhancing and protecting Herbalife Nutrition’s online reputation and identifying, evaluating and executing strategic initiatives which help drive incremental sales and/or enhance the distributor /customer experience. This role will also be the de facto expert for all things related to social media and online engagement.
DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
• Will define, develop and deliver the overall global corporate social media strategy, leveraging internal/3rd party/distributor knowledge and experience, and ensuring that all activity is aligned with regional business objectives
• Will act and be recognized as the primary point of contact for all social media matters globally, ensuring respect of online best practices and providing advice and guidance as needed
• Create and deliver integrated social media campaigns on a worldwide basis
• Will support the establishment of educational programs, guidelines and support materials where required to enable markets and distributors to better maximize their online presence
• In conjunction with regional sales and marketing teams; identify, evaluate and execute on key new initiatives that will drive incremental sales and/or enhance the distributor/customer experience
• Monitor our social media presence and promptly, tactfully and accurately engage with our customers, influencers and employees
• In conjunction with the regional sales and marketing teams; identify, evaluate and execute on key new initiatives that will enhance and protect our online reputation
• Provide detailed analytics/evaluation of online activity to feed into management reports and planning
• Effectively manage social media budget
• Assess ongoing competitive analysis, content and emerging technologies in order to remain up-to-date with all the latest developments/future trends as it relates to Herbalife Nutrition’s business
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Skills:
• Strategic thinker with a proven track record of delivering results based on those strategies
• Proficient at working in a technical environment; ability to translate technical solutions into business goals and vice-versa
• In-depth knowledge of and experience using major social media channels
• Good HTML knowledge and understanding of visitor and SEO requirements for effective online content
• Expertise in SEM/paid social practices
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to operate at all levels within an organization
• Must be able to flex between thinking strategically and implementing tactically, when needed
• Possess a willingness to take initiative and propose new ideas, and be passionate about digital/social media
• Ability to function as a team member
• Flexible and able to react positively to challenge and change
• Goal oriented
• High level of attention to detail
Experience:
• 10+ years’ digital marketing experience, with a demonstrated combination of business management skills and a strong knowledge of digital and social media
• 5 years’ experience managing direct reports
• 3 years’ previous B2B/B2C online experience
• Experience with managing a corporate online presence, including websites and social media channels
• Proven delivery of successful digital/social media campaigns
• Experience working across global markets, ability to take into account cultural diversity
• Experience managing multiple 3rd party vendors to achieve defined goals
• Experience working with budgets in excess of $500k
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing or related degree
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bilingual in Spanish or Mandarin
• Familiarity with production needs and process
• Understanding of direct selling and nutritional products business
• Graphic design and photography experience a plus, including familiarity with Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, Illustrator, Lightroom, etc.
