The BioTherapeutics Scientific Strategy and Analysis group is seeking an Associate Director to join our team. This is a critical role that supports the portfolio strategy with a focus on building differentiation into our molecules, competitive analysis, emerging science and technology analysis, knowledge management and business activities of the group. This position provides the opportunity to leverage deep scientific knowledge to help build a differentiated portfolio of molecules and grow in the analysis and business side of the pharmaceutical industry
Essential Functions:
• Maintain a depth and breadth of knowledge and experience in biologics drug discovery
• Scientific and competitive analysis to help ensure a highly differentiated, best-in-class portfolio, and helping to inform the Target Molecular Profile (TMP) and keeping the TMP refreshed.
• Scoping out the science, technology, industry landscape for emerging sciences opportunities, providing data to support Go/No Go decisions, and helping to craft strategies in the case of the former.
• Work closely with JBTLs to provide their teams with up to date, relevant information on scientific developments and competition relative to differentiation and timing.
• Analysis of data, spanning science and industry, to produce customized reports and white papers to the department on areas of strategic interest
• Benchmarking to ensure that the department is building and maintaining industry best practices.
• Analysis of scientific literature, providing timely updates in real time on areas of interest (such as specific drug targets, platforms, etc.)
• Supporting the technology fund (formerly ITS) management and allocation.
Qualifications
• PhD in relevant science; Post-doctoral experience preferred
• 5+years of relevant industry experience in Biologics drug discovery, including experience leading biologic drug discovery programs.
• Current knowledge of a broad array of science and technologies
• Analysis/business experience preferred
