The Treasury Executive is responsible for managing all of HP's Capital Markets, Insurance, and Enterprise Risk Management activities. This includes capital structure analysis/development, bond issuance, $2B+/year in share repurchase, $4B revolver execution, interest rate risk strategy and management including interest rate swap strategy development and execution, managing HP's bank relationship model and Other Income and Expense forecasting.
Manages Finance Investment and Technology Committee of the board material preparation and conducts credit rating agency relations/analysis with and for all three credit rating agencies.
Responsible for HP’s Enterprise Risk Management process that interviews all executive leadership members, aligns content for the audit committee, and is presented annually to HP's board of directors.
Responsible for all of HP's insurance programs (98 Policies across 12 insurance programs) from Directors and Officers to a $1B global property program. Also responsible for management of major insurance claims. Sits on the board of directors of Tall Tree, HP's captive insurance company.
Responsibilities:
• Manages the capital structure, insurance, and ERM programs for HP.
• Develops future treasury leaders through careful recruiting, training, development, and strategy/project execution.
• Develops and leads planning, design, implementation, communication, and delivery of the company's capital structure, insurance, and ERM programs.
• Accountable for leading an organization of directors, managers and individual contributors setting overall strategy, allocating financial and human capital for programs and projects, and ensuring timely and effective delivery of treasury programs.
• Identifies consequences of decisions in treasury function on a global level and leads the development of appropriate solutions.
• Consults with HP Senior executives on treasury- related issues to drive and influence strategic decision-making (e.g., balancing risk, approving asset allocation).
• Liaises between the treasury function and a variety of internal/external partners, including bank account officers, department heads and key subsidiary personnel.
• Leads process improvement and policy development initiatives that impact the treasury function; provides guidance on treasury programs of the highest level of complexity.
• Works with internal and external partners to ensure compliance with internal controls, policies and procedures, and excellent execution of multi-billion dollar financial transactions.
• Ensures that the treasury strategies and initiatives within area of accountability are integrated with corporate and business strategies.
Education and Experience Required:
• First level university degree with a focus in business or economics; advanced degree and/or finance certification (e.g., CFA, MBA) strongly preferred.
• Typically 12+ years of experience in a treasury function or exhibiting an exceptionally strong background in some other relevant and applicable area of finance.
• Typically 4+ years of people management experience.
Knowledge and Skills:
• Ability to define and shape HP’s capital structure in various business and economic environments.
• Excellent understanding of economics and financial markets.
• Superior ability to provide treasury consultation to senior executives.
• Excellent understanding of capital structure and treasury strategy, principles and procedures of treasury activities, accounting principles and financial analysis.
• Content master in the pertinent state and federal laws and regulations concerning treasury activities.
• Excellent project management and prioritization skills.
• Excellent people management skills, including managing teams across geographies and developing leaders.
• Ability to build partnerships across functions.
