The Production Foreman position is responsible for the planning, coordinating and supervising of work activities of five or more personnel including Temporary Agency workers engaged in production, equipment repair, warehouse work and the loading of trucks. The position implements and monitors management programs as they relate to safety, employee relations, production efficiencies, and inventory control.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Accomplishes manufacturing staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and recommending disciplining when necessary; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
• Maintains workflow by monitoring steps of the process; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.
• Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.
• Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
• Ensures operation of equipment by calling for repairs; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
• Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
• Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Job Requirements
• Education: Minimum required education High School diploma or GED.
• Experience: Three to five years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
Skills and Abilities
Supervision - Coaching - Managing Processes - Process Improvement - Ensures housekeeping standards are maintained - Supervises and directs work of others - Adds, subtracts, multiply and divides numbers - Must be able to read, write and speak English - Spanish fluency is a plus.
