Ethicon, a member of the Johnson & Johnson Family of Companies, is currently recruiting for a Global Strategic Marketing Director, located in Somerville, NJ.
The Ethicon franchise offers a broad range of products, platforms and technologies-including sutures, hemostasis products, surgical staplers, trocars and synthetic mesh devices-that surgeons use in a wide variety of open and minimally invasive surgical procedures, and energy based surgical devices.
Ethicon, Inc. based in Somerville, New Jersey, started more than 80 years ago as a pioneer in suture development and manufacturing, helping to transform the safety and effectiveness of surgery.
As Director, GSM Base Suture business, you will drive the strengthening and growth of established Suture brands such as (but not limited to) Vicryl, PDS, Monocryl and Prolene. You will partner with cross-functional areas such as Medical Affairs, Health Economics and Market Access, Global Business Insights, and R&D to uncover insights and evidence to drive adoption of Ethicon Sutures. Additionally, you will engage with regional marketing counterparts to craft the go to market strategy for Sutures, including informing value proposition, professional education, and support services.
Key Responsibilities:
• Global oversight of the Base Suture Business growth strategy.
• Partner up with Global Education Solutions to revamp Wound Closure sales reps training programs.
• Partner with other Ethicon platforms (such as Biosurgery and Basic Energy) to drive a comprehensive approach to Resident Programs.
• Lead and implement profitability improvement efforts.
• Build an always up-to-date go-to reference tool with all meaningful information, such as claims, key tech specs, etc.
• Craft a Base business defense Strategy and a deployment plan in partnership with the Regions.
• Engage with customers and KOL’s to identify key insights; lead global KOL identification and engagement. Develop KOL strategy and implementation roadmap.
Qualifications
• A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required.
• A Master's degree is preferred.
• A minimum of 10 years progressive business experience is required.
• A minimum of 5 years working in marketing is required.
• Medical Device marketing and sales experience highly preferred.
• Market knowledge in the Sutures platform preferred.
• Previous regional in line marketing experience and Global strategic marketing experience with proven competency building and executing a marketing strategy preferred.
• Experience in needs/insights assessment, portfolio management, new opportunity assessment, and product lifecycle management preferred.
• Ability to think creatively, design strategic solutions to complex problems, and an eagerness to learn is required.
• Proven experience developing and uncovering customer insights is required.
• Ability to build compelling business cases and influence senior leadership and cross functional partners is required.
• Excellent cross-functional and management influencing skills and ability to develop customer relationships is required.
• Proven ability to collaborate successfully and lead high-performing internal teams is required.
• Ability to travel up to 30% domestic and international is required.
