The BTL will be the technology strategist responsible for highly visible Corporate functions including Global Services and Global Corporate Affairs (i.e. Global Communications & Public Affairs, Corporate Equity, Corporate Contributions, Global Health Services).
The portfolio includes the most high-profile digital corporate applications and systems including jnj.com, discovernursing.com, Donate-a-photo, Executive apps, James E. Burke awards, AskGS among others. In this capacity, you are expected to shape the technology strategy for Global Services & Global Corporate Affairs functions. This role is a leader with a strong vision in Digital and IT, will act as the strategic technology partner to multiple teams, helping to shape new capabilities and new ideas, and actively leading portfolio governance and prioritization activities.
The role requires active engagement and partnership with business leaders to influence strategy while driving technology enablement of corresponding capabilities. The position requires a leader who can combine technology expertise with knowledge of the healthcare environment to lead transformational change and accelerate business value.
The BTL is a strong leader and collaborator with in-depth knowledge and experience of emerging technologies and the digital landscape.
You will drive positive outcomes and partner with senior leaders to bring forth new ideas, challenge the status quo, deliver innovation, shape demand and actively find opportunities to enable business capabilities through digital technologies. You will be accountable for handling the overall Global Services and Global Corporate Affairs portfolio and will collaborate with senior leadership across teams inside and outside of JJT.
Responsibilities
• Collaborates with Corporate business leaders/partners & external vendors/partners to define technology strategy & solutions that maximize business value and minimizing time to market.
• Lead prioritization of portfolio activities, projects and partners across Global Services and Global Corporate Affairs functions.
• Understand external trends, customer demands & opportunities, competitors & partner with Functional/Domain leaders & Product Line Owners and their teams in development of Enterprise capabilities and solutions.
• Drive critical thinking and influence business strategy with key partners.
• Defines priorities for business technology investments to deliver the right outcomes.
• Understands core internal IT products and new technologies and approaches to drive business value.
• Lead Global Services & Global Corporate Affairs governance process activities with JJT and business leadership, actively finding opportunities for continuous improvement in the governance model.
• Conduct Return on Investment and other financial analysis to support project funding/prioritization.
• Handle business partner relationships via regular face-to-face discussions and leadership team meetings.
• Respond to customer concerns as needed, connecting the dots and engaging appropriate partners in order to resolve.
• Actively lead and engage Business Technology Leader peers to further evolve the BTL capabilities and stay closely aligned with the internal landscape across functions.
• Coordinate communications/activities with business partner community, agencies, & other external vendors.
• Drive project alignment and prioritization across JJT and the partner teams.
• Help business partners clarify, develop, and plan for their current and future technology needs.
• Accountable for risk management within business partners functions.
Qualifications
• A minimum of 7 years of relevant business/technology leadership experience and a BA/BS degree or equivalent is required.
• A least 3 years managing/directing an IT operation/business unit or similar experience.
• At least 3 years of experience with people management and mentoring talent.
• Deep understanding of business drivers/processes and ability to relate priorities to associated technology investments.
• Experience working with senior leaders, interacting across multiple levels of organization & working with distributed teams.
• Hands on experience working with Globally Dispersed Multi-functional teams.
• Knowledge of technology & industry trends (e.g., digital, big data, workplace innovation, IT trends).
• Expertise driving adoption to improve IT.
• Extensive business experience, demonstrable experience driving technology strategy for a line of business.
• Able to synthesize leadership and partner inputs into decisions.
• Able to represent customers/users & can translate business process needs into IT solutions.
• Ability to influence and negotiate: understanding business value and solution needed to maximize IT impact while handling competing partner priorities and ambiguity.
• Program/Portfolio management experience delivering large scale/global projects from concept through delivery and operations is required.
• Ability to work at an abstract level and continuously “pivot” to arrive at the highest impact answer for the customer.
• Solid understanding of product development lifecycle, Employee and Service Experience landscape and challenges, business theory, management, budgeting and business office operations.
• Experience creating and evolving business capability roadmaps and technology investments.
• Demonstrated ability to apply IT in solving business problems, excellent written and oral communication skills, good social skills, ability to motivate in a team-oriented, collaborative environment, extraordinary service orientation, strong negotiating and influencing skills.
• Able to create context around key business drivers and strategic plan, able to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language.
• Experience working and partnering with external technology vendors and service providers.
• Domain expertise and experience in Interactive/Digital functional areas, Communications, Corporate functions is preferred.
• Experience with SalesForce, RPA, Machine Learning, AI, Internet/Intranet, Social Media, Mobile, IoT, Analytics and other related technologies are preferred.
• 10% domestic and international travel may be required.
