POSITION SUMMARY:
The Director of Engineering for Print Technology oversees and manages all aspects of developing, applying, and supporting print technologies used in various products. This role directs and coordinates all activities of the engineering department to design, manufacture, and test components, products, and systems.
Job Responsibilities
• Allocate engineering resources to successfully accomplish company objectives and priorities and identify needs for successful completion of projects.
• Perform administrative and oversight functions in approving proposals, expenditures, and policy enforcement.
• Day-to-day interaction and management of engineering team including: formal performance reviews, informal mentorship and coaching, recognizing outstanding performance, and correcting poor performance.
• Manage recruiting, hiring, and training of new engineering staff and professional development of existing staff.
• Develop and execute product development roadmaps in alignment with Brand Strategy.
• Manage engineering team effectively to project timelines and budgets.
• Provide insight on strategic technical focus to executive team.
• Establish documentation and processes to improve efficiency and reliability of engineering workflow.
• Ownership of the technical content generated by the engineering department in the areas of: product development, engineering for project delivery, and applications engineering.
• Approve design documentation including project design basis, specifications, drawings, and calculations.
• Provide technical critical input to effectively solve engineering problems.
• Direct and manage multiple concurrent engineering projects, delegating authority and responsibility to subordinates as appropriate.
• Ensure that products and projects incorporate industry best practices by combing in-house experience with external resource knowhow.

PHYSICAL ASPECTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
• Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
• Regularly/Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually low/moderate.

Qualifications / Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key accountabilities of the job required
• Advanced degree (MBA, Master’s) preferred
• Experience in MEMS processes required (Microelectromechanical Systems)
• 10+ years progressive engineering experience required
• 8+ years in a leadership role (direct or indirect)
• Periodic travel is required, including the potential for international travel
• High degree of proficiency MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications
• Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning)
• Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts
• Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients
• Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
• Ability to work with and influence peers and senior management
• Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting
