Description:
BASIC PURPOSE / SCOPE:
To oversee, coordinate and manage sourcing and optimization for the business unit supply chain network. This includes direct responsibility for the effective and efficient sourcing of product across all producing facilities (internal and external), manage and coordinate optimization plans and execution activity of the network and working cross functionally with the other business leaders to ensure the business unit achieves the expected results.
PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Ensure the right team is in place to meet both the daily business needs to operate the supply chain effectively and the long term need to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the business.
• Development of a culture in Supply Chain Logistics that places safety first, drives engagement at every level and embraces diversity and inclusion.
• Lead and oversee the synchronization of the supply chain network to ensure worry free supply focused on effective coordination of: manufacturing scheduling and sequencing, distribution flow, transportation scheduling and sales service expectations.
• Manage the effective and efficient sourcing of product across all producing facilities, internal and external. This includes sourcing systems activity, inventory ordering and management for items required have this process throughout the BU.
• Partner with manufacturing, co-pack and the Sales team to determine optimal sourcing strategy to achieve Lowest Landed Cost (LLC) within Business Unit.
• Lead the supply chain logistics team in Supply Chain Excellence. Focus on the development and implementation of plans to standardize and optimize processes and technology.
• Manage automation activity to ensure effective application and performance once implementation is completed.
• Drive product accountability initiatives across the business working with cross functional teams to ensure visibility and actions taken to improve.
• Develop an annual financial plan for sourcing and optimization activities and projects, aligned with the broader plan of the business unit, monitoring actual results and taking actions to ensure financial commitments are met.
• Drive waste elimination through the development of annual plans for increasing the efficiency of the supply chain, ensuring accountability within the team, monitoring actual results and making adjustments in the plan as necessary.
• Instill a “Lean” practices culture, founded on a Continuous Improvement mindset to eliminate non-value adding activities.
• Monitor performance metrics relative to cost and service level and make adjustments as necessary to lower cost and meet service expectations
• Ensure the effective execution of company initiatives including new methods of distribution, new products and seasonal business requirements.
• Assure and maintain Business Unit compliance with required certifications and regulatory agencies.
• Take on special project as assigned/
Position Requirements:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
§ 10 years of experience in supply chain logistics at least 7 of those in a management position
§ Business Administration or related field.
§ Must have excellent written and verbal communications skills
§ Exposure to TMS & Pick to Light WMS platforms.
§ Background in high speed executional supply chain network.
§ Experience working with unionized workforce preferred.
§ Must possess computer knowledge in Microsoft office applications
