Vice President Finance – Americas Sales

The Role
Position provides overall financial management and compliance oversight for the region and provides business support to the Americas Business & Sales organization. This role supports the General Manager/SVP of the Americas and the Americas Sales Leadership team.
The position partners with business leaders and assists the America’s Sales organization in executing against its organizational, operational, and financial strategies and delivery of profitable growth responsibilities including budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and reviewing deal profitability among others. This leadership role is responsible for leading, mentoring and developing an effective field finance and FP&A team, including up-leveling existing cross-functional processes and systems. Tight collaboration with all other finance sub-functions (Controllership, Tax & Treasury, etc.) to ensure accuracy of the financial statements and implementation of corporate policies.
Responsibilities
• Business partner to GM/SVP by providing insightful financial and business advice based on sound robust analysis.
• Management of the Americas sales leaders including; region VPs, service and support leaders, presales and operations.
• Ensure a business partner-based approach to financial management with a goal of globalization, standardization and optimization of the underlying processes.
• Implementing best practices, common tools and consistent processes for a geographic based business & sales finance organization.
• Ensure global consistency of the application of all financial policies, and standard procedures, processes, tools and systems.
• Monthly & quarterly financial reporting and forecasting financial results, trends and analysis.
• Partnering with VP Sales Ops for cross-functional effective and compliant processes.
• Lead a high performing team of 7 direct reports include 5 Division Sales Controllers, FP&A Director & Services Manager.
• Ownership of America’s Sales AOP and forecast process including financial analysis and risk appraisal.
• Ownership of the accuracy of the sales function PL.
• America’s sales full P&L reporting and analysis, including revenue, margin, opex and contribution profit
• Ownership of all deal structuring in collaboration with controllership.
• Partner with the America’s Services organization on XAAS with contracts and processes which meets customers’ needs, is more efficient for sales team, straight-forward for rev rec and easy to transact.
• Collaborate with America’s Sales Operations in defining and maintaining customer segmentation, quota setting, introduction of any SPIFF’s & QBR’s.
• Collaborate with HR, Global Finance, & the America’s leadership team to provide input on the global sales compensation plan design that incents and drives the right behavior aligned with the company’s strategy.
• Business decision support on ad hoc investments and other business cases.
• People management, career development, hiring, coaching and training a world class financial organization that anticipates results and business trends.

Qualifications
• Minimum 10-15 years of progressive financial leadership experience.
• Experience with a multi-national, global company.
• 7+ years in hands on business partnership roles able to demonstrate partnership successes.
• MBA, CPA or equivalent preferred with current understanding of US GAAP & IFRS.
• IT or software industry background preferred.
• Ability to multi-task and work in a matrix environment.
• Able to work with different cultures, cross functionally and with people in all job levels, including executives.
• Demonstrated ability to coach, lead, motivate and develop a highly talented finance team.
• Superior quantitative and analytical skills.
• Strong analytical and process improvement skills with the ability to identify and implement business improvement and cost reduction opportunities on a continuous basis.
• Able to see the big picture but not afraid to get into the detail.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills appropriate for an entrepreneurial environment where demands and priorities change rapidly.
• Ability to effectively influence and collaborate at a senior executive level.
• Ability to quickly assess a team, make decisions on capabilities and effectively make changes.
