Role Summary:
• The Director, HR drives organization effectiveness, culture, and strategic talent management for the luxury brands of VWGoA – Audi, Bentley, Bugatti, and Lamborghini.
• This role serves as the senior HR business partner to Brand executives who are responsible for sales and marketing in the U.S. with operational responsibility for both corporate and field functions and will oversee the delivery of HR consulting services to optimally manage talent and employee engagement.
• The Director, HR leads a team that provides HR business partner, organization development and learning support to all luxury brand employees
Role Responsibilities:
Strategic Talent Management
• Design, deliver and implement multi-year strategic Talent Management plan
• Deliver workforce analytics, reporting, trends, insights to leaders; make data-driven people decisions
• Establish and lead forum for strategic talent management; elevate focus of organization on talent review, succession planning and HiPo development
• Establish and manage a suite of development, learning, etc., solutions aimed at improving the skills of the workforce to better deliver on business needs
• Remain abreast of best practices and trends in HR, Organization Design, Succession Management and bring thought leadership to the brand executive team to spur new thinking, conversation, and to ultimately elevate talent management activities within the organization
Business Partnership
• Serve as senior HR partner to Brand executives; serve as part of Executive Leadership team
• Represent Brand at conferences, meetings etc.
• Represent company at external conferences, speaking engagements, etc.
• Maintain relationships with Audi AG, Bentley Crewe and Lamborghini Sant’Agata HR board members and S&M HR executives
• Drive alignment of HR processes with Group HR and brand Headquarters
• Partner with COO/Sales Executives to extend HR resources, support, programs to dealer community to enhance people management, retention, development
Drive Organizational Effectiveness and Culture
• Steer broad organizational design, including re-organizations, organization changes resulting from mergers and acquisitions and other organizational changes
• Introduce new, more effective organization models based on strategic business priorities
• Act as chief culture leader (in partnership with President). Drive cultural initiatives.
• Use data from employee listening tools (Great Place to Work Trust Index © Survey, Stimmungsbarometer, others) to derive insights and opportunities to enhance the work environment and culture
• Serve as final escalation point to resolve employee relations issues; make final decisions on course of action to address with Legal and other partners
Team Management
• Ensure right team – skills, resources, level – is in place to deliver on business needs. Build business case for team resource needs as appropriate to address changing client demands
• Hire, develop team; coach performance issues; establish annual performance and development goals
Budget Management
• Effectively management operating budget; report monthly on budget expenses; follow all prescribed Group Finance budget rules and processes
• Build business case for additional resources/budget investment for key strategies and initiatives, as appropriate
Qualifications
Years of Experience:
• 12+ year experience acting as a senior HR business partner or leading an HR team/function
Education-Required
• Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Human Resources, Organization Development or related field
Education-Desired
• Master’s Degree in Psychology, Human Resources, Organization Development or related field
Specialized Skills-Required
• Business Partnership: Proven success partnering with senior business leaders and adding value through the delivery of HR solutions that improve workforce capability and organizational performance while protecting the interests of the Company.
• Team Management: Proven success managing HR professionals (consultants, analysts, specialists) responsible for development, implementation, and execution of key HR processes, policies, and programs.
• Change Management: Build coalitions for support; define change plans, measure progress
• Strategic Planning: Ability to define a strategic plan linked to the goals of the business. Track progress and ensure implementation of the plan
• Relationship Management: Build and maintain relationships at all levels of the organization
• Program Design and Implementation: Scope, design and develop broad organizational programs to drive strategic talent management
• Talent Analytics: Derive insights from multiple sources of data; ability to present data and compelling case to senior executives
Specialized Skills-Desired
• PHR or SPHR Certified Human Resources Professional Designation
• Knowledge of the automotive industry
• Knowledge of VWGoA business strategies and metrics, and talent markets in which Audi competes
• Familiarity with VWGoA and other global HR policies, processes, and programs
Work Flexibility:
• Occasional travel required, both domestic and international
