Job Specific Details:
This position provides leadership for Corporate Financial Systems and is responsible for the implementation of Enterprise, scalable solutions. This includes solutions and processes associated with Purchase to Pay, Record to Report, Tax, Sourcing and North American Payroll. This position is responsible for the continued build-out and management of key Enterprise IT solutions while ensuring the retirement of legacy applications.
• There will be 4 IT Managers reporting to this Director
• The Director will be responsible for approximately 50 employees and 40-50 contractors
The successful candidate will plan, organize, and direct all efforts relative to the design, definition, development, implementation, and maintenance of Finance applications. The successful candidate will work closely with the multiple business owners utilizing Renewal Technical Tenets to continue delivering on FedEx’s transformation strategy through the following programs:
• Strategic leadership supporting existing systems and their modernization through implementation of the Global Financial Cloud ERP and TNT integration
• Delivery of remaining mainframe retirements and movement of custom applications to a cloud native architecture
• Leadership of the North America Payroll program’s ongoing technical initiatives, OpCo in-sourcing and support for remaining HR Workday implementations
• Empower Corporate Systems business partners with data/analytics to help drive continued modernization and improvement of business processes
Knowledge and Skills Considered a Plus:
This position requires a strong transformational leader with experience in leading teams. Skills are as follows:
• Utilization of modern architecture principles to drive changes in processes, development tools, and frameworks to accelerate value delivery.
• Experience leading transformation to Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
• Experience leading IT modernization efforts
• Expertise throughout the development lifecycle, including; systems architecture, design, software build-out, design principles and understanding security, scale and reliability.
• Experience in working through the challenges associated with enterprise scale software consolidation
• Proven ability to drive toward lean processes and solutions that create acceleration while meeting compliance requirements
• Exceptional business partner and employee relationship skills
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree/equivalent in computer science, math or business or related field with emphasis in a quantitative discipline. A related advanced degree may offset the related experience requirements. Extensive experience in systems development including design, development, implementation and maintenance of large batch or online transaction based systems. Experience in the majority of the following: mainframe, distributed systems, client server, relational systems, transaction and message systems, embedded systems, imaging and systems management and operation. Previous management experience, strong leadership, human relations and communication skills required.
