Director Health Systems - Acute
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assist in developing and implementing strategies for the Acute Care segment to meet assigned sales and profitability objectives;
• Act as liaison with the Premier team for a sector specific market and operations group to maximize sales and profitability for US Foods and Group Purchasing Organization (GPO);
• Conducts business reviews with key GPO constituents to ensure on-going maximization of the GPO program in their organization;
• Work effectively with the Business Solutions organization to drive Legacy value-added services implementation within top IDN customer groups;
• Support GPO staff in executing key strategic initiatives and protecting business under threat from third-party contract management companies;
• Manage the relevant communication and education to field, sales personnel and Support Office staff to assure understanding of contract elements and business objectives to provide service excellence for particular market segment;
• Maintain and strengthen the relationship with GPO by understanding and responding to customer needs and market conditions in a timely and effective manner utilizing appropriate resources as need;
• Manage key GPO relationships (corporately and in the field) on a daily basis;
• Track performance in assigned business sector;
• Monitor utilization of contracts by member, division performance and provide leadership the information necessary to maintain field sales focus on contract product penetration;
• Assist in the development of specific action plans to achieve planned performance targets;
• Act as the advocate within US Foods for all major customer issues in assigned market segment;
• Frequent overnight travel required.
EDUCATION / TRAINING:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
Related Experience:
• Minimum 5 years food service sales experience preferred;
• Prior healthcare experience preferred;
• Demonstrated positive customer interfacing experience also required;
• Experience dealing with Group Purchasing Organizations (GPO) and large regional or national multi-location chains strongly desired;
• Contract Management experience desired.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
• Strong interpersonal skills - relationship builder required;
• Demonstrated ability to create and implement programs that enhance value to end user and organization;
• Ability to leverage relationships to achieve business goals, strategic thinking skills, strong business acumen and business maturity required;
• Must have excellent oral/written communication skills, be well organized with strong follow through;
• Knowledge of Contract Management company strategies and sales approaches in the Acute Care setting;
• Strong leadership and team building skills with proven results orientation also required.
