The Americas HR Director will be responsible for driving the operation of Americas HR, which will include providing leadership to Regional Business Unit HRBP and driving the agenda for Diversity & Inclusion; Employee Experience and providing regional oversight. This role will lead a large or broad function/department within a multifaceted organization. Responsible for operational success, strategic alignment and integration of activities with other major organizational functions. Responsible for one or more recognized professional disciplines. Fully accountable for the success of the designated function or department. Influences strategy and sets policy and direction. Owns a significant number of measurable functional, operational and strategic goals or priorities. Assumes responsibility for the successful implementation of business plans in a defined area of responsibility. Contributes to the overall strategic definition of a function with strong business acumen. Acts as a key advisor to executive management in influencing the strategic direction of the business. This role will be reporting to an EXEC2.
Responsibilities:
• Develops and leads planning, design, implementation, communication and delivery of the company's HR initiatives across a region or large business group.
• Actively partners with and influences clients at the EXEC3 and EXEC2 level on a regular basis.
• Drives strategies and initiatives at the regional/global/business group level by exercising some governance oversight in one or more areas (e.g., key policy decisions, requisition approval, resolution of high-impact disputes).
• Leads a team of Managers and Senior Individual Contributors for a business function, and/or region by setting overall program initiatives, allocating financial and human capital for programs and projects, and ensuring timely and effective delivery of human resource programs.
• Will be responsible for significant dotted-line employee reporting relationships.
Education and Experience Required:
• First-level university degree; advanced university degree in business preferred.
• Typically 12+ of business partner experience with significant strategic experience, including senior management influence.
Knowledge and Skills:
• Proven experience in partnering and influencing senior leadership
• Ability to work in a collaborative manner, maintain even keeled approach and develop strong working relationships with clients, employees and HR colleagues.
• Superior ability to provide HR consultation to senior managers and employees on HR issues regarding employee relations, staffing, compensation, HR policies and performance management.
• Strong project management and prioritization skills.
• Strong leadership and people development skills.
• Ability to build partnerships across various functions; ability to manage without formal authority.
• Strong communication skills - written, oral and presentation.
• Strong operational skills: ability to manage complex administrative processes concurrently.
• Ability to effectively manage a medium budget.
• Strong consulting skills.
