Job Summary:This senior role will work within the strategically important Global Ingredients Division as part of the leadership team in addition to supporting the SVP of the division on budgeting and planning, corporate and board reporting, and special projects.
The Director, Finance GID will report to the Corporate Planning & Analysis lead with a dotted line to SVP, Global Ingredients Division, with one direct report (Analyst). This leader will help advance the FP&A function within Blue Diamond. As a member of the GID leadership team, this executive will influence and provide guidance to drive continued profitable growth.
Job Description:
• Develop a deep understanding of the Blue Diamond almond trade and advise the business to improve profitability and drive growth. Provide an analytical voice to the business, product, and market place strategy discussions. Develop and monitor critical pricing metrics important to the profitability of the division.
• Develop added value analysis and reporting to drive business insight and better decision making. Identify, quantify, and raise / address risks and opportunities to business results.
• Monthly reporting and analysis of business results including creating KPI reporting, commentary, and insight, as well as reporting on variances, mix etc.. Present to senior management and business teams.
• Develop metrics, reporting, and analysis to evaluate and support pricing decisions that deliver on margin commitments with strong considerations for almond input costs, conversion costs, and competitive dynamics.
• Active participation in developing 5-year Strategic Plan for GID with a strong emphasis on leveraging growth from Innovation initiatives. Design, manage, and own the Financial Planning processes for the division that drive alignment with business objectives and assess resource trade-offs. This includes rolling forecasts, latest estimates, and annual plans.
• Work with the business unit, Finance team, IS, and Operations to design and implement integrated management reporting leveraging new capabilities from SAP and Essbase. Develop new reporting tools to address key business issues as identified.
• Ensure integrity of division financial accounting. Execute against ad hoc analytical projects that deepen business insight and drive value to the business. Provide general analytical and process support to the business.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 8 years of analytical and financial experience, with an emphasis on sales, manufacturing, and strategic support. Demonstrated business partnering, influence, and commercial impact.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills are vital for success in this role. It requires the ability to build credibility and constructive relationships, impact cross-functionally at all levels in the organization. It also requires the ability to synthesize, simplify, and present complex information and concepts to non-financial audiences.
• Highly developed financial and business analytical skills are required. Demonstrated success understanding and interpreting business results and plans, in addition to providing insights to improve business results and grower returns.
• Must be knowledgeable in standard business software (MS Office, ERPs) to at least an intermediate level, and with the aptitude to quickly become an advanced user. SAP experience preferred. Requires knowledge of business intelligence systems, particularly EssBase.
Preferred:
• Experience working in a food manufacturing business.
• Experience with SAP and Hyperion EssBase planning systems.
• Master of Business Administration.
