Description
The Senior Director, Appliance PMO is responsible for leading the development of new products for the hot beverage platform including appliances, portion pack, system innovation and accessories in the Appliance product development system.
This role directs and oversees large, complex product development and commercialization initiatives, often comprised of multiple discrete programs and/or projects, ensuring they meet the scope, schedule, and cost objectives of the business. As the leader of the Appliance PMO, this role will have the responsibility for developing, maintaining, and improving program and project management methods and tools, as well as the professional staff.
The Senior Director, PMO will direct and manage people in the context of large product programs or program portfolios. In most cases, the management relationship will be a “solid line” to Leadership management.
What you will do:
• Direct and oversee the development and maintenance of business cases, program plans, integrated master schedules, learning plans, resource plans, budgets, etc. as required to scope, plan, and execute product programs in our agile development environment
• Direct and manage program implementation to ensure all goals are met in our agile product development process
• Be responsible for on-time, on-cost, on-quality delivery of programs
• Be responsible for our development portfolio of programs to prepare our business for next-generation readiness
• Direct overall program activities and interactions in our operating system, including daily huddles and other weekly touch points
• Serve as a resource to senior leadership in the alignment, planning, and execution of assigned programs, including regular engagement with key business sponsors at or above the Vice President level and periodic program reviews at the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) level
• Ensure timely delivery of appropriate end products for different key integration points or read-outs to leadership
• Manage and set-up additional touch points with relevant leadership
• Monitor program status across the portfolio and effectively communicate status to all stakeholders via project data repositories, status reports, project planning tools, presentations, etc.
• Ensure adherence to financial control processes (e.g., stage gate requirements to deploy capital)
• Define and implement governance processes/structures in accordance with our agile development and stage and gate processes that enable appropriate planning, scheduling, executing, monitoring and controlling across the program
• Manage program activities across multiple functions or business units
• Establish and maintain effective risk management discipline on all assigned programs
• Collaborate on the development and implementation of standard project and program management methodologies and tools
• Manage programs that can/will span our product areas in appliances, pods, and beverages; may include disruptive innovations, and may have international scope
• Serve as a part-time agile coach to team members by understanding drivers of team velocity and effective decision making
• Follow all Keurig Dr Pepper policies and procedures
Qualifications
What you must have:
• BS/MS in Business Administration, Engineering, Supply-Chain Management or related field; MBA preferred
• Project Manager PMI/PMP certification desirable
• Minimum of 10+ years’ experience managing programs and projects involving new product development, supply-chain, physical process deployment, and/or information systems
• Experience with Agile/Scrum teams integrated with traditional program management methods
• Experience in marketing and/or product development
• Experience in consumer products preferred; new product introduction experience highly preferred
• Expertise in common knowledge-worker tools (Windows, Office Professional, Visio, etc.) and specialized project/program management software (MS Project, etc.)
• Planview or other project portfolio management (PPM) applications experience/skills desirable
• Deep experience in program/project management methods and integration of agile/rapid learning cycle environments into overall program success
• Experience in agile teams and a rapid learning cycle environment
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Collaborative, appreciative style of management and engagement with others
• Ability to uphold safety standards
• Ability to facilitate and drive continuous process improvements on the job and partner with other functions/individuals
• Up to 25% travel
