WHAT WE WILL BE LOOKING FOR YOU TO DO IN THIS CRITICAL ROLE:
The Cloud Software Product Management team is seeking an innovative, results-oriented, customer-centric Product Manager who will help define requirements and drive the execution of systems software to build world-class, innovative experiences and solutions for Panasonic Avionics customer. This is a key role to drive broad product planning, working closely with customers and internal teams to develop systems software, influences our long-term technical and business strategy, and ultimately enables us to deliver innovative new solutions rapidly. We are looking for a PM Principal/Director to lead this key role for systems software and core services. WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR IN THIS ROLE:
STRATEGIC OPERATIONAL OVERSIGHT
• Manage entire product life cycle for system software to support IFEC products that maximizes our investment while meeting or exceeding customer expectations, ensuring products meet our midterm and long term strategic business plans.
• Direct the roadmap, market requirements, business plans, development plans and timely delivery of system software and services.
• Fiscal management of product budget and ROI for system software and tools.
• Report product management metrics for PAC to senior management. Assure there are action plans to address metrics that are not ‘on-plan’.
MANAGEMENT
• Lead and manage the product management function for the Systems Software team.
• Define the product roadmap and ensure successful product delivery: own the product lifecycle, which includes defining the product roadmap, working closely with the engineering team on feature specifications, representing the voice of the user, and making decisions about implementation and resource trade-offs.
• Evaluate technologies and identify opportunities to innovate and improve our features and capabilities.
• Drive industry partnerships and relationships.
• Ensure strategies, products and services are aligned with both PAC core competencies and our customers’ requirements.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
KNOWLEDGE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS
• Proven experience in leading design, development and life-cycle management of systems software for complex systems.
• Seasoned ability to communicate effectively and work with all areas of the company and act as a liaison between sales, marketing and engineering to ensure that the product requirements meet the market demands.
• Ability to effectively influence multiple constituencies internally and externally and inspire action without direct organizational management responsibility. Comfortable leading matrix/integrated product teams
• Outstanding communication skills and demonstrated ability in developing and delivering complex business and technical presentations for senior management.
• Excels in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as negotiation and presentation skills.
• Participates with other senior managers to establish strategic plans and objectives.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
• BA/BS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 10+ years of experience in a product management role with platforms and android operating systems
• Product experience on large-scale systems.
• Experience in partner relationships and interacting with the Engineering teams.
• Entrepreneurial drive and demonstrated ability to achieve stretch goals in an innovative and fast paced environment.
• Comfort with new technology and thinking outside the box to develop and implement short and long-term creative solutions.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
• 20% international and domestic travel required
