Description
Shutterfly is seeking a Senior Tax Director to join our high performance work environment. This position will be reporting to the Vice President of IR, Tax & Treasury and is responsible for overseeing all aspects of strategic planning, tax accounting, reporting, compliance and planning operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Develop and implement strategic direction for tax including, planning, provision, and compliance.
• Effectively plan workload and develop resource plans that are aligned to the company’s requirements and goals and prepare/maintain/own budget
• Provide updates and tax planning strategies to executive management and audit committee
• Ensure accurate and timely consolidated US GAAP quarterly and annual tax provision calculations and SEC footnotes and disclosures
• Ensure accuracy of tax related close processes including provision entries, sales tax reconciliations, tax related stock based compensation entries and quarterly provision memos
• Ensure timely and accurate tax compliance and filing for federal, state income/franchise tax
• Oversee Indirect Tax, including property tax, and state and local sales and use tax
• Oversee interim and annual tax controls in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley
• Oversee annual companywide R&D credit study
• Develop relationship and collaborate with other functions within finance, including financial reporting, corporate accounting, and legal
• Manage outsource service providers for exceptional delivery and efficiency
• Lead tax due diligence and planning considerations for potential mergers, acquisitions and divestitures
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; MST in Taxation a plus
• 15 + years of combined experience with Big Four tax department, industry tax management, or equivalent experience
• Ability to collaborate and effectively communicate with executive management and other key stakeholders
• Strong qualitative and quantitative analytical skills required with the ability to take large volumes of complex information and present it in a clear and concise manner appropriate for senior management decision-making
