Director, Customer Development – eCommerce Marketplaces and Pure Play
Johnson & Johnson Consumer, Inc, a member of Johnson & Johnson’s Family of Companies, is currently recruiting for a Director, Customer Development for eCommerce Marketplaces & Pure Play to be based out of Skillman, NJ.

The Director of Customer Development oversees and partners with direct and indirect cross-functional team of individuals that include Sales, Analytics, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Finance to leverage the collective J&J Consumer Companies in the fastest growing sales channel in the US.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Lead new channel expansion of third party reseller marketplaces in the US, such as Amazon, eBay, Google Shop, Alibaba, JD.com, Walmart, and Albertsons
• Lead team to identify, foster, build, and operationalize new customer relationships to compete in US online marketplaces with partners such as Pharmapacks, distributors, other new resellers, and third party logistics partners to expand sales growth on eCommerce marketplace platforms
• Lead, shape, and fully operationalize J&J second party (2P) strategy, being our own seller through online marketplaces
• Influence decision making at the customer and Company senior levels, and accomplish key goals and objectives by working through others who have no direct reporting relationship
• Lead the eCommerce marketplaces and Pure Play team to deliver strategies and tactics with the customer using deep insights stemming from category, shopper, competitive, and business performance analytics
• Lead, shape and deliver necessary capabilities required to with in online marketplaces across multiple J&J stakeholders including supply chain, R&D, global marketing, local marketing, shopper marketing, and sales strategy
• Responsible for shaping and delivering new go to market and investment models to step change growth opportunities with this emerging channel – including direct negotiations with new formed partnerships and existing customers (e.g. Pharmapacks, pure play customers, etc) that result in outcomes that benefit the Customer, J&J, and the Consumer
• Serve as a change agent within the eCommerce channel, at the customer, and internal J&J franchises driving and instituting strategies that enhance collaborative efforts of J&J companies and devising innovative strategies/solutions that result in increased sales, profit and/or business productivity
• Be the voice of third party marketplace strategies and what it takes to win with internal J&J stakeholders to influence eCommerce strategies, that result in tangible outcomes for the channel
• Shape US Consumer pricing and promotional strategies with consideration of reseller go-to-market models and strategies – resulting in enterprise strategies that continue to drive exponential growth for J&J and reseller partners
• Prioritize focus in the professional and career development of all members of the reporting team
• Member of the eCommerce Leadership Team, collaborating across sales channels to help all e-retailers drive growth using insights from online marketplaces
• Define and clarify roles, often in an environment where roles may compete, serve as a coach and mentor to team members
• Participate in the performance evaluation and development process to direct reporting team
Qualifications
• A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or related field is required
• 10 years total business experience is required
• Prior experience in a consumer products company preferred
• Prior experience in customer sales preferred, including high volume key account or large mass retailers
• eCommerce experience highly preferred
• Cross functional experience is a plus
• At least 4 years of people management experience is required
• Ability to prioritize and to manage multiple priorities successfully
• Ability to build new business opportunities that result in material sales growth is required
• Ability to work in a complex, matrix environment where priorities change rapidly and tight deadlines exist is required
• Ability to successfully negotiate internally and externally to align competing needs at high levels across dotted line relationships is required
• Ability to instill followership through strong collaboration is required
• Knowledge of principles of management and training & development systems is required
• Proven ability to negotiate successfully and to resolve challenge and conflict arising out of everyday business situations and competing needs across dotted line reporting relationships is required
• Strong computer skills, including web applications, MS Office and sales database applications per computer proficiency standards is required
• This role will be located in Skillman, NJ and require up to 25% travel
