Job Summary:Leads the Internal Audit Team in conducting independent, objective assurance and consulting activities designed to add value and improve Blue Diamond’s operations and control environment. Develops professional and technical skills of the Internal Audit Team and monitors/manages staff performance. Reports functionally to the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors and administratively to the SVP-General Counsel.
Job Description:
• Oversees the day-to-day management of the internal audit function in performing financial, operational and technology audits.
• Prepares and updates a comprehensive risk-based audit plan for evaluating the effectiveness of controls to manage significant risk exposures.
• Ensures the integrity and reliability of information and financial reporting.
• Safeguards company assets, and ensures compliance with laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Directs and contributes in the execution of the audit activities.
• Communicates audit results/findings, recommendations, and agreed upon corrective actions to the Audit Committee, General Counsel, management, and external auditors.
• Tracks and reports implementation status of corrective actions.
• Communicates and interacts with management across the company.
• Delivers technical advice, assistance, and instruction.
• Develops professional and technical skills of the Internal Audit Team and monitors/manages staff performance.
• Perform other duties as requested by the Audit and Governance Committees of the Board of Directors and General Counsel.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum level of education required
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, or Information Services.
Minimum number of year(s) of experience required in addition to education plus type(s) of functional experience
• 10 years of public accounting and/or internal audit experience.
• 4 years working in a managerial role and interaction with Board of Directors.
Other required type(s) offunctional experience
• Expert knowledge and application of audit concepts, techniques, and standards established by the Institute of Internal Auditors.
• Demonstrated verbal and written communications skills, critical thinking and analytical ability to identify risks and audit issues and recommend practical cost-effective solutions.
• Strong quantitative skills, intellectual curiosity, and healthy skepticism.
• Maintain highest standards of integrity, values, principles, work ethic and professionalism.
• Excellent managerial and administrative skills.
• Proven ability to self-manage, prioritize and multi-task work activities.
• Proficient navigating and curating data from a company’s ERP system(s)
• Proficient Microsoft Office.
Other job requirements (e.g. certifications/licenses, CPG experience, work overtime/weekends, etc.)
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) or Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) required.
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES
(Specialized education, specific software experience, etc.)
• Experience auditing companies in consumer-facing industries; preference for food/beverage manufacturing / consumer products.
• Public accounting experience.
• Proficiency with SAP ERP.
• Strong knowledge of information systems and controls.
