Job overview and responsibilities
As a Director of Commercial Analytics, you will partner with the Commercial teams (E.g. Revenue Management, Network Planning, Marketing, Loyalty and Sales) to define and execute data analytics initiatives that drive incremental revenue. You will be responsible for identifying and analyzing opportunities as well as managing the execution and delivery of projects. You will be acting as analytical thought partners driving business results through use of data driven insights.
• Partner with business leaders to identify key business problems, lead problem solving and collaborate with data engineering and digital technology teams as needed
• Be a thought partner to the commercial teams, engaging with leadership as a trusted and influential contributor to creating useful insights that inform and activate business strategies
• Support commercial teams to define and design metrics as needed
• Manage key projects collaborating with internal teams, ensuring high quality and on time delivery. Lead status meetings and manage frequent communication to key stakeholders
• Participate in creating overall data science strategy and roadmap
• Identify creative solutions to derive insights from data
• Direct the work of professional staff. Attract, engage, develop, and retain top talent. Responsible for the team's successful performance
• Ensure appropriate oversight of vendors and external partners
Qualifications
Required
• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field and/or equivalent work experience
• Strong passion to solve business problems with data
• Proven experience that demonstrates driving business results through advanced analytics
• Strong understanding of databases, database architecture, and high performance computing framework
• Excellent project management skills, with a proven track record of on-time and within-budget delivery
• Exceptional ability to manage priorities across multiple stake holders
• Advanced knowledge of data science tools and capabilities
• Proven ability to influence decision making

• At least 7 years of experience in an analytical role
• At least 3 years in a managerial role
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
• Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
• Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
Preferred
• Master’s degree in a quantitative field and/or MBA
• Experience in using visualization/BI tools – Spotfire
• Project management experience
• Airline experience, particularly in commercial areas
