Description
Job Title:Director, Tax
Department: Finance/Tax
Location: New York, New York
Position Summary: (a) Tax accounting for tax provision, deferred taxes, and tax reserve including the identification of book tax differences, true up of books to tax return, managing the mid-year and yearend close process, quarterly projections of taxable income, monitoring of the company’s foreign source income and foreign tax credit position, and working with Headquarters and foreign affiliates’ personnel. (b) Coordinate, prepare, and/or supervise the preparation of federal and state tax returns. (c) Assist with research, tax planning, transfer pricing, special projects and M&A. (d) Respond to IRS and state tax audit requests including tax notices and manage certain tax audits. (e) Position will have one direct report and will require interacting with Headquarters and other foreign affiliates’ personnel. (f) In the course of carrying out the responsibilities, tax research will be required and recommendations are expected to identify risks and opportunities. The amount of time spent in any one area may vary from year to year due to changes in the organizational structure or acquisitions, the number and complexity of tax audits which occur during the year, and the scope of research, planning & special projects.

Nature & Scope:
The Tax Director will work with members of the Tax Department, Accounting Department and other departments such as Finance, HR, Legal, Marketing, Headquarters, and Regional tax personnel.
Requirements:
Education:
• BS/BA in Accounting required
• CPA required
• Master’s degree in Tax is a plus
• Knowledge of corporate and partnership taxation
Experience / Background:
• Minimum of 10 years relevant tax experience with 5 years at a Big 4 public accounting firm
Working knowledge:
• OneSource Income Tax RS and RIA Checkpoint
• Working knowledge in Hyperion and/or Oracle a plus
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
• Strong project management skills and strong written and verbal communication skills.
