Digital Marketing Director, Home Appliance

The Digital Marketing Director is responsible for setting the vision and strategy of how Samsung Home Appliance (nearly 4B business) should be operating in the digital marketing space, specifically in (but not limited to) these 4 core areas:
• Samsung.com + Samsung Builder.com
• Retailer.com
• Digital marketing – specifically, social media, search, and CRM
• Ratings and Reviews
This position manages 3 direct reports (including 1 temp) with the possibly of future expansion, and needs to drive the group into a world class digital marketing team in a complex, global matric environment; set KPIs and performance expectations; manage analytics team (cross functional) to define measurable success. Candidate must be comfortable managing multiple extensive cross functional teams, as well as multiple external agencies and varied stakeholders; this job is highly matrixed and the candidate must be able to navigate a complex, global environment. The position reports directly to the VP of Demand Generation.
Candidate will be required to establish relationships with key stakeholders, including senior executives in the US and Korea; and manage the information flow between this team and other teams including (but not limited to): ATL team; BTL team; Trade marketing team; HA Product, Sales, Builder teams; 837/brand creative and media teams; s.com team in Seattle; Various agencies, including digital, creative, CRM, and social (Edelman).
Candidate must be well versed in gathering, interpreting and executing against the voice of the consumer, be strongly data driven, and think strategically while still being able to manage to detail. Ensure that the overall digital strategy is clearly understood across all parts of Samsung. Anticipate and proactively identify opportunities to leverage existing Samsung products and services to deliver additional value to trade customers. Explore unmet needs with key decision makers and communicate them as potential opportunities for digital marketing innovation. Respond to concerns from executives and key decision makers.
Ultimately, develop a long term plan on how to evolve HA’s digital presence into a world class center of excellence. Strong Agency and cross functional management expertise is a must.
OVERALL:
Lead from a digital perspective market assessment, quantitative analysis, qualitative feedback, and represent the voice of the customer internally when working with Product Management and Content Teams
Develop a content strategy with relevant KPIs to gauge contribution to the business
Be the expert and go-to expert on our target consumers
Develop messaging, positioning and core content that communicates the value of our product
Be the go-to expert on consumers and products inside and out and the competitive landscape
Provide Consumer and marketing insights to support developing new business models to partner with emerging technology and bring them to the fore for digital marketing and content purposes
SPECIFICALLY:
Manage digital content database management and info syndication
Manage temp to reorganize and rename data as necessary
Ensure new content is consistent in nomenclature, hierarchy, etc
Ensure content is on-strategy as well as on-brand
Be a visionary and provide initiative to create best-in-class content on s.com and retailer.com sites, whether through imagery, digital tools, content etc.
Partner with trade marketing and ATL teams to define messaging and all content across all retailer.com websites; help drive the “upgrade” of trade partner sites to make their content more consistent to samsung standards
Partner with ATL team and .com team (remote ) to define the content and messaging of our own samsung.com website; ensure consistency and execution with excellence; Evolve s.com into a best-in-class manufacturer website; ensure that content is up-to-date and consistent with the brand; ensure navigation is clear and easy; reco new content/tools etc. to make navigation and shopping easy and consistent
Partner with ATL team to redefine our digital marketing – creative and media spending recos:
Partner with ATL team and all cross functionals including brand creative, social media and external agencies to elevate our online marketing presence
Prioritize evolving our social media presence and our CDM to be more relevant and two-way with the consumer – i.e., dialog vs dictation
Partner with product management to ensure we are delivering on end to end scenarios that meet customer needs and ensure that every new feature drives the maximum business impact. Re-define and upgrade the B2B website to accurately reflect the brand, by improving content, updating images, and developing online tools for the builder team to utilize
Manage all partners:
• Internal – s.com; sales teams, BTL team, ATL team
• External – agencies, influencers, other partners
Skills and Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree with 12+ years of related experience is required.
• Prior experience in advertising, product marketing and project management required.
• Prior experience in a telecommunications environment preferred.
• Prior experience managing and developing Marketing staff required.
• Ability to identify marketing and sales channels within wireless product technologies.
• Must be able to write, read, analyze, interpret, present, and explain wireless terminals technical product and development materials.
• Must have experience with Microsoft Standard Office Suite and extensive use of Windows presentation software in an NT LAN/WAN network environment.
Work is generally performed in an office environment. Operate a computer keyboard and view a video display terminal between 50% - 95% of work time, including prolonged periods of time. Requires considerable (90%+) work utilizing high visual acuity/detail, numeric/character distinction, and moderate hand/finger dexterity. The movement and transportation of equipment, most of the time is under 25 pounds. Performs work under time schedules and stress which are normally periodic or cyclical, including time sensitive deadlines, intellectual challenge, some language barriers, and project management deadlines. Machines, tools, equipment, and work aids include printers, copiers, faxes, and other equipment commonly associated with an office work area. May require working additional hours beyond normal schedule. Travel varies depending on position. Consistently demonstrates a commitment to policies and procedures, including but not limited to, attendance, confidentiality, conflict of interest, and ethical responsibilities.
