Job Description
The Director of Health & Welfare Benefits will focus on the design and strategy of U.S. PepsiCo-wide employee health and insurance programs and will report to the Senior Director, Global Health & Insurance. The position will also lead the strategy and design for Recognition and Voluntary benefit programs. The ideal candidate has knowledge and experience in managing benefit programs, vendors, supporting multiple divisions and locations for these programs and collaborating with HR Operations and IT teams. The position is responsible for ensuring both financial and administrative operations of health & welfare benefits programs are being executed as designed and for the development of plan design and future year strategies.
Major Tasks, Key Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities:
• This role supports the development and monitoring of U.S. group insurance plan expense, compliance and governance processes.
• Will be responsible for developing multi-year strategies to manage plan costs, improve health of population, provide competitive benefits and comply with health care reform
• Responsible to develop and monitor Annual Operating Plan for PepsiCo Employee Health Plan, in support with Benefits Controller role.
• Management of outside consultants, including actuarial valuation process for self-insured health plans (setting of assumptions, development of expense loads, forecasting claims costs) and align results with Finance.
• Monitor, scorecard and identify drivers of medical trend to identify opportunities price, utilization and care management opportunities.
• Partner with internal and external stakeholders (benefits, HR, HR Operations, multiple vendors, etc.) as appropriate
Qualifications/Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree required, MBA preferred, CPA desirable
• Strong working knowledge of employee benefit programs
• 5 to 7 years PepsiCo experience, preferably including Benefits and/or Finance and Accounting responsibility
• Ability to work in a high volume, fast-paced environment
• Strong organizational skills; must be able to prioritize, multitask and manage project deadlines.
• Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail and the ability to analyze complex data
• Strong verbal, written communication and presentation skills
• Ability to work as a team player and influence cross divisional teams
