Senior Director, Retail Strategy & Analytics - Small Format
Job Description
The Sr Director of Strategy and Analytics for Small Format is to establish/create the AOP strategy for the small format channel and build organizational capability (e.g., channel strategy, processes, selling tools), by leading/directing PBC account selling. By leveraging insights and analytics and focusing on the business drivers (i.e., Feature weeks, inventory, displays) the goal is to effectively bring an insights selling strategy to our customer to drive growth. The Sr Director of Sales Strategy and Analytics should leverage and influence the cross functional teams and establish strong wiring to expand on best in class processes to share across the small format channel.
Accountabilities:
• Establish/Create the AOP Small Format strategy through category insights/management, business analytics, and price pack development to accelerate channel specific business results and sales/share strategy for PBC
• Own small format selling strategy for all PBC as well as customer specific strategies (Circle K, 7-eleven, CVS, Walgreens, Rite Aid, DG, Dollar Tree Inc, C&G customers)
• Interface with bottlers as well as customers
• Own the retail trade committees (eg. FMI)
• Solve retail problems and customer opportunities through category management / analytics
• Support the small format channel through reporting, tracking and analysis so that the customer teams' execution is measured, monitored and evaluated on a timely basis
• Conduct post mortem analysis of channel and customer strategy
• Coordinate and collaborate across the PBC system and process owners including sales leaders across NAB (Gatorade, Trop, PEP), Brand Teams, Finance Teams, Revenue Management, Strategy, Commercial teams, etc)
• Produce standardized data reports (timely scorecards) and channel specific custom analysis
• Build category objectives and goals consistent with customer role and definition
• Convert data to insights into executable sales plans
• Compile information across customer base for internal reporting purposes
• Track customer and channel progress towards yearly goals and executional framework targets
• Develop innovation scorecards and actionable insights
• Contribute/lead the Annual Operating plan and operationalize it for customer teams
• Ad hoc customized analysis to drive revenue opportunities in the channel
Qualifications/Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree
• Minimum 10 years of related experience
• Category management experience or shopper insights experience
• Proven analytical abilities and skill in converting data into actionable insights and translating into executable sales plans
Desired Characteristics:
• Strong collaboration skills working cross functionally
• Strong attention to detail and focus on accuracy
• Experience using syndicated data systems (IRI, Nielson, etc)
• Ability to manage and influence matrix functions with diverse structures/interests
• Demonstrated strong people management skills and ability to inspire a complex, multi-function team
• Sales experience
• CPG experience
