Job Description
This role is responsible for leading the processes for the purchase of $200 million USD in Packaging and Contract Manufacturing spend for the McCain Foods Company. This Director will lead a team of 3-4 managers/buyers to develop long term purchasing strategies and gain commitment from key stakeholders particularly in Finance, the Supply Chain and North America business leadership teams. The person will also lead supplier relationship development including monitoring performance versus expectations and will also be required to recommend, approve and implement business allocations.
Key Accountabilities
·Drive cost focused strategy for Packaging and Contract Manufacturing spend area
• Lead sourcing strategy to deliver ongoing cost savings targets
• Deliver Sustainable Cost Advantage (SCA) results and ongoing savings programs
• Build supplier relationship program for the relative markets to deliver significant value for McCain Foods
• Manage multiple internal and external organizational relationships
• Conduct key sourcing activities including contract negotiations
• Ensure company purchases in the spend pool comply with company internal controls requirements
• Build organization capability through procurement core skills coaching and training
• Drive individual accountability for performance deliverables in the procurement team
• Drive delivery of supplier diversity spending goals and visible engagement in the industry
• Drive the management reward system, performance appraisals and career discussions for their team
Qualifications
• Minimum 8-10 years in procurement, preferably in packaging and contract manufacturing spend areas
• Bachelor’s Degree required. Major in Business or Engineering preferred. Master’s degree a plus
• Proven ability to plan, organize, and manage multiple priorities
• Ability to think strategically and plan for long term initiatives
• Strong financial and industry analysis experience
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
