The internal audit department helps Sonos accomplish its objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of governance, risk management, and controls.
The Director of Internal Audit will report to the Chair of the Audit Committee and administratively to the Chief Accounting Officer. This individual will help build the internal audit function, lead the implementation and execution of Sonos’ Sarbanes-Oxley compliance program, and be a leader of the global risk mitigation efforts.

What You’ll Do
• Build the worldwide internal audit function.
• Responsible for maintaining and strengthening a world-class internal control environment.
• Lead the SOX 404 implementation and ongoing maintenance.
• Work with external auditors in respect to SOX and control compliance.
• Design and execute a companywide risk assessment and annual internal audit plan.
• Report internal audit findings and recommendations to senior management and the Audit Committee.
• Lead efforts to improve the effectiveness of governance, risk management, and control processes.
• Work across the Company and with the Audit Committee to identify and execute audits and special projects.
• Ensure emerging risks and issues are identified, considered and responded to as appropriate.
• Engage and manage third party consultants who assist with SOX, internal audits and special projects.
• Work with the Audit Committee Chair to set the Committee’s internal audit meeting agenda and focus areas.
Skills You’ll Need
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
• Certification such as a CPA or CIA
• 15+ years’ experience in accounting, external audit, risk and/or internal audit
• Prior public accounting experience as well as public company internal audit experience
• Experience managing or overseeing engagements with third party consultants
• Experience in designing and executing an internal audit plan at a multi-national organization
• Experience implementing SOX 404 in a large global company
• Experience with an ERP transformation is preferred
• Professional agility to navigate a fast-paced environment
• Self-starter and exceptional ability to communicate with, leverage and influence others; developing strong relationships with various business leaders
• High integrity, self-aware, humble
• Strong executive presence and ability to communicate at the board level
• A broad and global mindset with an ability to work effectively in an environment that is culturally diverse
• Strong leadership skills with a proven track record of building high performing teams
