Description
We are looking for a talented Associate Photo Art Director to join our Shutterfly creative team. We are an in-house agency team at a growing and fun ecommerce company in Redwood City. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing photography concepts for our Shutterfly and Tiny Prints brands. You are someone who understands branding and how to bring a creative campaign to life through photography. Your portfolio is full of lifestyle images you directed with attention to strong composition and narrative. You have high technical standards combined with great visual story telling.
The idea candidate is a passionate creative and excellent collaborator. You will work closely with the Creative Director, Art Directors, and Photography staff to execute concepts and direct photoshoots. Shoots take place in our on-site studio, on location and in rented studio space. Travel within the Bay area required.
Duties
• Brainstorm and develop photo concepts
• Support the development of campaign ideas with photo moodboards and swipe
• Sketch for photo compositions when needed
• Direct and run photo shoots; on site (in house studio), on location and in external studios
• Manage photo schedule deadlines and ensure milestones are met
• Pitch and present ideas with strong rationale
• Work well with feedback and extract essential input
• Source Photographers, stylists and other talent as needed
• Produce and mange shot list
• Provide retouching notes and approve final imagery
• Drive improvements for photo quality and accuracy: Eg, Sets quality standards, Develops process improvements, Introduces new tools
• Collaborate with creative teammates and internal partners to deliver on creative and marketing needs
Experience and skills
• Bachelor Degree in Design or Photography or equivalent
• 3-5 years’ experience art directing photography for retail and or ecommerce brands
• A portfolio of work that reflects a strong brand aesthetic
• Strong sense of style with your finger on the pulse of what is happening in the marketplace
• Skilled at managing and organizing photo shoot schedules, timelines and due dates
• Track record of running shoots on time, and on budget
• Innovative in terms of approach as well as in marketing concepts
• Highly collaborative
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to perform under tight deadlines and budgets on multiple projects simultaneously.
