Position Summary:
The Director of Brand Communications is responsible for setting the global media strategy across the Harman portfolio of brands as well as the execution of the US media strategy. The focus will be the development and delivery of media plans that deliver an optimized media spend with a prioritization of brands, countries and media channels. The role also leads brand stewardship to ensure adherence to guidelines for the entire portfolio of brands for both internal and external partners. This role helps drive the voice of Harman brands across the globe.

Job Responsibilities:
• Responsible for driving global alignment on brand strategy and providing direction in areas including packaging, naming, and new product creative development for all markets. In addition to brand development, they will play a critical role in driving the global media strategy across the Harman portfolio of brands.
• Act as the steward of the brands (including HARMAN itself) in support of the brand promise, brand vision, brand position and brand architecture. Engage, inspire and galvanize the organization around the brand vision, position and strategies so they are clear in bringing them to life in their areas of functional expertise.
• Support VP in briefing, of Global TVC campaigns, keeping the brand target and positioning at the heart of each creative concept. Ensure 360 assets are properly organized and distributed to regional teams.
• Manage 2 direct reports (1 agency resource), across both media and brand touchpoints to extend impact of Global team across both disciplines and facilitate skill development
• Drive consumer understanding, insights, and competitive information that defines our target consumers’ needs, attitudes and values in order for consumers to have stronger and more impactful brand engagement experiences.
• Work collaboratively with business management and regional marketing teams to create global marketing plans and manage execution of plans in partnership with the regions.
• Manage media strategic planning process to build engaging dialogs through media with our consumers across 3 key divisions, Lifestyle (consumer and automotive), Connected Car and Pro.
• Manage day to day operations of media agency and overall scope of work in US and EMEA. Through the agency, lead optimization of media buying activities through a formal audit process, agency review, contracts management
• Lead the planning and execution of US media plan that supports business objectives and ensure alignment across key stake holders, including focus on driving ECOMM business
• Establish ways of working to streamline communications and create seamless dialogue for global activities
Basic Qualifications:
• 6+ years experience in Brand Management and Marketing Communications
• Experience planning media for multiple brands
• Project management and problem-solving skills – Experience driving projects within defined schedules with the ability to resolve issues and gates while maintaining schedules
• Strong business background - As well as excellent written and verbal communication skills required
• Self-starter with ability to thrive in a fast paced environment – Motivated and able to work in a very fast work environment.
• Able to change priorities and handle multiple projects at one time a must.
• Experience working cross-functionally on strategic projects
• Solid planning and organization skills – Ability to manage complex projects and schedules necessary with global marketing development.
• Good collaboration skills – Ability to effectively collaborate with teams around the world and with leading agencies to drive the best thinking and implementation of marketing ideas.
• Demonstrated creativity and out-of-the box thinking – Constantly pushing new ideas to drive the brands forward.
• Problem solving ability – Ability to solve open-ended problems common in marketing where many answers exist to the same problem.
• Knowledge of technology products a plus– Consumer Audio, Pro Audio, Mobile devices and digital content marketing
• Experience working in a Consumer/Professional Products company a plus

• Willingness to travel 20% of the time
