Position Details
SUMMARY
This role is charged with developing and deploying a centralized, standardized, and optimized inbound and outbound logistics network, including but not limited to, distribution, finished good inventory management, and customer order fulfillment, in order to minimize total system cost and maximize profitability while delivering superior customer service.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop and Execute a 3 - 5 Year Logistics/Transportation Business and Growth Plan to support retail store expansion
• Develop carrier strategies, including carrier selection, on-boarding, contract negotiation, and performance management.
• Build S&OPs and SOPs to optimize modes across an entire transportation process (i.e. parcel, 3PLs, consolidating middle mile shipments, final mile, reverse logistics)
• Own the Logistics/Fulfillment P&L, identify cost-savings opportunities, improve logistics and fulfillment efficiencies (i.e. inventory management, forwarding stocking) while optimizing customer service levels
• Orchestrate cross functional collaboration across Sales, Quality, S&OP, Facility, and Inventory, Logistics and Manufacturing Leadership to deliver efficient and effective warehousing and distribution performance.
• Develop metrics to assess logistics/fulfillment performance, including on-time delivery, carrier performance, and distribution center performance to optimize service to customers and retailers while minimizing costs.
• Provide leadership, mentoring and guidance to logistics team by setting performance goals, ensuring execution of projects and cultivating a high-performance culture.
• Create and implement shipping policies and procedures, to include equipment usage and work instructions
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/WORK ENVIRONMENT
• Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or similar program;
• MBA preferred
• 7-10 years of experience in supply chain and logistics operations and strategy in a matrix and cross functional organization
• Must be willing to travel 30% (primarily US)
