Position: Director of Finance, Supply Chain
Location: Atlanta, GA
Reports to: VP, Finance, Supply Chain
Summary:
This role will provide financial support for transformation projects and will be aligned with the Supply Chain Leadership Team and will support the rollout of the new process and related reporting to support the Newell Integrated Supply Chain Optimization Team (NISCO). The candidate should be comfortable communicating to all levels of the organization (factory floor to CEO) and able to develop strong working relationships in the Corporate Headquarters and Divisions in order to gather information and influence decision-making. The position will also require the individual to initiate and support critical projects that improve profitability, processes and/or increase visibility to financial data.
Responsibilities:
• Establish consistent reporting and metrics to support a common operational excellence activity system platform based on the principles of TPM, Lean and Six Sigma that is pragmatic, team based and focused on building capability to deliver value across a balanced KPI scorecard Focus areas for finance support:
◦ High level balanced scorecard across the enterprise Total Newell Brands with the ability to drive into the scorecard by Division
◦ Work to drive scorecard metrics down to key dashboards and to the production cell / shop floor. Major key metrics to be rolled out are focused around OEE, MUV/Waste, Labor $/unit, Quality Defects, Safety, Schedule Attainment, MRO, and Service/OTIF
◦ Reporting should drive focus at the appropriate level and lead to improved awareness while raising opportunities and flagging risk trends
◦ Support the rollout and education on the definition and calculation of the metrics as well as the difference between Scorecard/Dashboard
• Total Newell Brands Productivity reporting -> Develop the tools, process and related training materials to continue to roll out and support Productivity Reporting and tracking:
◦ Ensure the organization understands how we define and track reporting around productivity
◦ Ensure the tools are in place to support the productivity portions of the P&L walks and ladder consistently by plant/region/sub-segment and up to total corporate Newell Brands
◦ Drive the necessary enhancements and reporting modifications
◦ Ensure user access and training is supported
◦ Support all project level detail loading actuals and forecast on projects that are directly driven as corporate projects by the VP of productivity: such as Corporate Distribution Network and 4 wall projects, corporate driven transportation, corporate driven automation and waste reduction
◦ Educate the organization on the productive process and underlying steps to ensure delivery
◦ Introduce a process to post audit projects and ensure calculations are accurate and consistently being applied
• Lead all financial elements of transformation on large network cross brand Supply Chain projects to include:
◦ Leading key productivity initiatives related to supply chain optimization
◦ Tracking and analyzing key areas of spend
◦ Support and develop the capability to analyze the four-wall cost structure across facilities, Overhead, Fixed, Variable, etc
◦ Identifying optimization opportunities, complexities and related cost impacts, recommending an implementation strategy for those opportunities
◦ Manufacturing and distribution network design opportunities
◦ Align and recommend key KPIs to track progress on all strategic projects
◦ Manage the RAR process and analysis specific to Supply Chain
• Support the tools and productivity reporting to help streamline the tracking and transparence on projects between the Transformation Office, Division and Corporate
• Providing support to multiple layers of management with ad hoc reporting
• Responsible for quality, accuracy and timeliness of all data and analysis related to Newell Brands transformation projects
• Key Financial Representative on the Distribution Steering Committee Meetings
• Ensure US GAAP, Sarbanes Oxley, Tax, Internal Audit and other statutory compliance
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting / Finance
• 10-15 years of experience in accounting/finance field, with a minimum of 5 years in a manufacturing/warehouse/transportation environment
• Minimum of 5 years in a supervisory or management role
• Experience at functional and or business unit finance preferred
• Significant experience with Excel, SAP, PowerBI and Hyperion is strongly preferred
• Demonstrated analytical, leadership and communication skills
• Ability to convert and convey complex idea’s and problems into an understandable framework
• Demonstrated accomplishments in the areas of finance and accounting
• Strong process orientation
• CPA / MBA are a plus but not a requirement
• 50%+ travel will be required
