Overview
Provide in-country development of a strong commercial project business pipeline and professional account management for those clients based in the defined region (US) who are focused mainly on commercial project business located outside of the US, whilst simultaneously operating as part of the Global Projects sales team. The role holder will have responsibility for driving project sales in two ways: influencing the specification of new projects, and identifying and winning new project contracts. As part of the Global Project sales team, help to build and implement the right processes, tools and capabilities that ensure we provide a world class level of customer orientation and service that positions Grohe as the premium water solution partners for global project businesses.
Responsibilities
• Develop the project sales plan for your defined region as a member of the Global Projects Team and maintain a close working relationship with the defined region’s domestic management teams as you will encounter project business that falls within the responsibility of others including but not limited to:
◦ Development of sales strategy for Global Team via networking with Country Management Team and Region Team. Discover market opportunities, route to market, sales model/process, organisation/people capability, etc.
◦ Provide input to business planning and review processes
◦ Input to specification of sales performance support (e.g. CRM) tools, systems, processes etc.
◦ Manage growth to deliver against company guidelines and targets
• Establish the path to target and win new projects, and deliver financial performance targets, implementing the Grohe project management systems and processes
• Create and deliver attractive and profitable project propositions (compelling business cases that address client opportunities/problems) for target customers
• Manage and improve sales process performance, capability and efficiency
• Influence the growth of the Global Sales division via input to sales strategy and plans over the longer term:
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Sales, Marketing, Communication or Business preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
• Requires a minimum of at least 7-10 years in a sales/business development management position with leadership and budget responsibility.
• Experience working in project or commercial sales is preferred
• General Management mindset with strong leadership, strategic, analytical, business, planning, problem-solving and technical ability
• Demonstrated competence in account development, consultative selling, and negotiation skills
• Demonstrated ability to grow business organically
• Highly developed relationship building skills, ability to build credibility and influence within and outside the projects Team
• Ability to effectively communicate orally or in written form with internal and external customers.
• Basic plumbing knowledge an asset.
• Aptitude for utilizing emerging technologies and working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint and SAP / CRM systems.
• Frequent domestic and international travel required
