Overview
The Sr. Director of Technical Program Management will lead a technical program management office function integrated with the rest of the organization. The role will focus on the establishment of program management processes, supporting a team of Technical Program Managers and ensuring tracking and control of programs that are mix of Agile and Waterfall. This role will establish a set of tools and mechanism that will be used for tracking and managing those programs. Leading development timelines will require strong project management capabilities, technical & business acumen and strong interpersonal communication skills to drive accountability through all phases of the development cycle.
Responsibilities
• Responsible for the definition and maintenance of the standards of technical project management and processes. Support the successful delivery of programs undertaken by SleepIQ through effective facilitation, tracking and reporting.
• Work closely with Development Managers, Architects, Product Managers, other functional managers to drive successful program and process execution.
• Lead a team program management leaders
• Lead adoption of world class processes, tools, and technology
• Drive towards more efficient and focus our resources efforts on the most important work
Qualifications
• MS in a computer science field or equivalent experience
• 10 years of software engineering projects management or similar experience with 3+ years of people management experience
• 5 years’ experience with JIRA and other software management tools
• Additional qualifications: MBA preferred, PMP certification preferred
• Experience with both agile and waterfall engineering projects
• Analytical and problem-solving experience, exposure to large-scale systems and experience writing code
• Experience managing team members in remote locations
• Strong cross functional leadership: demonstrated ability to engage multisite teams and external partners to generate expected results
• Ability to think both strategically and tactically in a high energy, fast paced environment
• Exceptional interpersonal, influencing, and communication (written and verbal) skills
• Excellent organizational skills – ability to prioritize – multi-task oriented
• Establishment and adoption of TPM processes
• Ability to run schedules according to plans
• Team retention and growth
