Job Summary
Establish and execute a 3 year strategic plan for the sector that provides profitable growth and a broad portfolio of value added products, services, and systems that support the North American Food Care Objectives.
Responsibilities
• Determine, justify, prioritize, and drive focused strategic programs for both materials and systems.
• Understand market potential, end user needs, and value propositions for new programs
• Identify and select development partners for new programs
• Develop and implement commercial launches of new products and systems
• Work with Sales to develop and execute Sales work plans – including sales presentations to key customers and tracking wins and losses.
• Communicate the Market Sector strategic plans to the organization.
• Maintain knowledge of market and key customers - monitor trends.
• Develop Internal and Field “Market Teams” for strategy input - Develop STRAP including the understanding of competitive products and market positioning.
• Network within the specific sector and retail industries with the focus of developing key relationships that will lead to changing the conversation and leading to valued solutions for our customers.
• Responsible for North American Market Sector P&L including key account contract negotiations and agreements. Establish robust deal/growth funnels to support market based product pricing that delivers the most effective value proposition to our customers while optimizing profitability.
• Ensure timely and effective reporting on market activity, as well as, action plans. Provide market and sales forecasts – develop the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) for the market sector.
• Coordinate with Portfolio Directors and support product line cost savings programs to improve profitability. Active life cycle and D&O management. Incorporate appropriate External Products as appropriate to compliment the product portfolio.
• Participate on Global Sector Team to support awareness of the global market and key trends.
• Coordinate with Market Communications to ensure appropriate promotion which includes trade shows, promotions, advertising, success stories, PR.,etc.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• BA/BS Degree required- preferred discipline in Food Science; MBA/MBS preferred
• 10+ years of experience in Food or Packaging Marketing
• Ability to travel in North America
• Valid Driver’s License
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
• Strongly preferred- Specific Sales or Marketing experience in meat, dairy, or packaging industries
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
• Strong project management skills
• Strategy focused/ organized/ team player
• Ability to work with all levels- and present to diverse audiences
