The Associate Director, Global Trademark Development, under the direction of the Global Trademark Development Group Head and/or designees and with minimal supervision, will provide all aspects of trademark development as well as maintenance of such trademarks over the products life cycle. This individual will be responsible for developing, leading and delivering on business objectives of the brand, both globally and regionally, while ensuring adherence to processes, legal requirements and through interpretation, adherence to regulatory guidelines. The individual will lead Global Trademark Development teams across Janssen Pharmaceutical companies, therapeutic areas and functions and have a proven track record of performance that demonstrates an ability to influence multiple stakeholders and drive team alignment. He/she will collaborate with the Johnson & Johnson Trademark Law Department, Janssen Regulatory Affairs, R&D and Commercial groups. He/she will serve as back-up contact for Health Authority interactions including but not limited to the EMA, the FDA and the USAN Council.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
• Lead the planning and implementation of respective projects
• Facilitate the definition of project scope, goals and deliverables
• Provide direction and support to Global Trademark Teams
• Provide project support to Director, Global Trademark Development
• Facilitate vendor capabilities meetings, naming workshops and final data review meetings
• Prepare slides, schedule meetings, prepare minutes, etc.
• Perform trademark searches and investigations
• Instruct trademark law department on trademark filings, renewals and oppositions
• Identify and manage vendors, methodologies and contracts
• Provide naming education to teams and progress reports to key stakeholders throughout the naming processes
Qualifications
• A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree is required
• An advanced degree is preferred
• A minimum of 6 years of progressive experience working in the pharmaceutical and/or biotechnology industry is required
• Direct experience in pharmaceutical naming are highly preferred
• Excellent listening, verbal, written and presentation skills required
• Strong project management skills required
• Independent, self-driven, enthusiastic and strong team player
• Must have a proven track record of managing in a matrix environment where a high degree of collaboration is needed
• This position will be based in Raritan, NJ, USA and require up to 10% domestic travel in addition to 10% travel to Janssen Pharmaceutical companies in NJ and PA.
