Job Summary
The Director – Non Operations Business Partner is a member of the GN HR Leadership Team and oversees HR business support for all functions outside of Operations, specifically Finance, Commercial, Marketing and Product and Innovation. Partnering with Executives, the HR Director consults, executes and monitors HR strategies and programs, including performance management, talent management, workforce planning, and career development. The Director, HR works closely with and brokers the services of the HR Centers of Excellence (COE) team to deliver quality business solutions. This role will also oversee the administration of company policy and directs and coordinates day-to-day site human resources activities.
Essential Functions
• Partners with function leadership teams using insight of the business environment to improve talent business outcomes.
• Develops key relationships with the Executive team and senior leaders and is seen as a trusted advisor.
• Consults with business leaders applying workforce planning knowledge, engagement strategies and succession management, coaching and development planning, to diagnose current and future HR needs and develops a strategy for resolution.
• Manages leads and develops an HR team responsible for day-to-day support, spanning multi-locations.
• Leads and supports the implementation of HR strategies, objectives and processes that are aligned with the overall function and business strategy.
• Able to influence site leaders and other key stakeholders in decisions relating to HR strategy and operations.
• Works with site leadership on people/workforce strategies, helping develop high potential talent and supporting a high performance culture.
• Provides consultation, leadership, and quality control in the administration and interpretation of employment, employee relation, and performance management policies, systems, procedures, and documentation and succession planning processes; while assisting with the development and implementation of internal protocols and procedures in accordance with existing employment law, regulations, policies, guidelines and systems.
• Monitors humans resources program efficiency, develops reporting procedures and other methods to measure success, and revises processes and procedures, as necessary, to improve program effectiveness.
• In conjunction with the HR Leadership team, establishes and implements human resources short and long-range goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures; monitors and evaluates program/project effectiveness; effects changes required for improvement.
• Works with the HR Leadership team to design dashboards and metrics and holds direct reports and leaders accountable to dashboards and metrics in order to drive improvement.
• Maintains updated knowledge and understanding of federal and state employment and labor laws, regulations, procedures, and standards.
• Comfortable working within a numerical environment and able to interpret and translate multiple data sources in order to influence the outcome. Oversight of Sales Variable Pay plans and implementation.
Qualifications & Skills
• 6 plus years HR generalist experience, HR Specialty or other business related experience.
• Able to build and sustain strong relationships with peers and client business leaders, including working with leaders at the executive (C-Suite level).
• Able to manage highly sensitive matters; maintain confidentiality and objectivity.
• Proven leadership skills and experience managing and developing a team of HR professionals.
• Multi- site experience preferred.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• High personal standards of integrity.
• Project management skills.
• Familiarity with Variable Sales Plans - preferred

• Diagnostic and problem solving skills.
• Can shift comfortably between day-to-day work and strategic responsibilities.
• Travel up to 20% of time.
• Bachelor’s degree required, with Master’s degree preferable.
• Professional HR certification preferred.
Physical Demands
• Regularly involves talking or listening, sitting, and the use of hands and fingers.
• Frequently involves reaching with hands and arms, standing and walking.
• Occasionally involves crouching, stooping, kneeling and/or climbing or balancing.
Physical Requirements
• Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items, works with the fingers, and perceives attributes of objects and materials.
• Involves moderate physical activity performing non-strenuous daily activities of a primarily administrative nature.
• Should be able to identify and distinguish colors, see clearly at 20 inches or closer and 20 feet or more, observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point, judge distances and spatial relationships, and adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus.
• Must be able to drive vehicle for travel purposes.
