Johnson & Johnson Technology is recruiting for an A&D Director Commercial.The A&D Director Commercial reports to the VP IT A&D SL. The position is responsible for managing, coordinating and directing all GOC IT A&D Commercial Leads and associated acquisition and divestiture activities.
The A&D Director Commercialwill partner with the J&J Sector/GOC Business Commercial and IT Commercial organizations to manage and coordinate IT participation for planned acquisitions and divestitures. The A&D Director Commercialwill provide coaching and guidance relative to the IT Commercial aspect of acquisitions and divestitures as well as ensuring the consistency of approaches and architecture used. The A&D Director Commercial will function across all Sectors/GOCs. The A&D Director Commercial will partner with stakeholders, internally and externally to the IT A&D SL, to maximize deal value.
The role requires active engagement and partnership with a variety of organizations within J&J including, but not limited to, Business development, Legal, Commercial, R&D, Supply Chain and Corporate business technology (CBT). The A&D Director Commercial requires strong influencing and interdependent partnering skills to secure and coordinate resources for all Acquisition and Divestiture transactions across the J&J Enterprise.
Finally, the A&D Director Commercialwill develop standard strategies and approaches to drive continuous process improvements to realize effective and efficient execution, yielding deal value realization.
Major Responsibilities:
• Acts as single point of contact to manage, coordinate and direct all deals Commercial functional leads and associated activities.
• Coaches all GOC IT A&D Commercial Leads on standard approaches for the Commercial areas of acquisition and divestiture transactions.
• Ensures standardization and consistency of Commercial architecture approaches, across Sectors/GOCs.
• Develops strong relationships with Business Commercial and JJT BTLs across GOCs.
• Develops and recommends standard IT Commercial strategies and approaches to drive continuous process improvements to realize effective and efficient execution, yielding deal value realization.
• Represents the IT A&D SL with Business Commercial and IT Commercial organizations.
• Determines IT Due Diligence requirements, relative to IT Commercial.
• Acts as escalation point for all IT Commercial issues across all Sectors/GOCs for all acquisition and divestitures transactions.
• Actively engages with A&D transaction teams, IT and Functional leaders to provide direction and guidance and to explore ways to lessen or eliminate TSAs.
• Partners with IT and Functional business leaders to develop business case for using innovative separation strategies, clearly demonstrating value creation for J&J and potential buyers.
• Ensures appropriate IT Commercial resourcing for all transactions.
• Consults and provides direction (within IT and business), facilitates discussion, establishes trust, builds and uses cross-functional relationships to drive IT A&D objectives for value capture and realization.
• Leadership - Should create a rapid sense of belonging and ownership across a variety of teams. Coaches and motivates same and promotes mutual support and interaction.
• Develops IT Commercial A&D best practice processes for early deal stages.
• Implements lessons learned for each transaction and incorporates into enterprise processes for future improvements.
• Forges and maintains external networks to learn and inform improved practices.
• Analyzes the risks and future impacts of decisions.
• Makes decisions and takes timely independent action in pursuit of priorities.
• Leads, collaborates, challenges and influences peers, subordinates and senior management.
Qualifications
• A B.S. degree is required.
• 15+ years preferred of relevant experience in managing large programs with high levels of complexity.
• 5+ years of experience in a Product Line Owner (PLO) role.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience supporting commercial functions in an IT capacity is required.
• 2+ years leading A&D programs, acquisitions or divestitures.
• Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Effective collaborator and problem solver.
• Strong influencer with external groups, a business thinker.
• Understands value of technology to maximize deal value.
• Strong track record of financial forecasting accuracy.
• Ability to work under pressure and through tight timelines.
• Ability to set-up and facilitate cross-functional meetings to resolve issues in a timely manner.
