Helen of Troy is hiring a visionary Director, Project Managementwho will be responsible for ensuring the timely delivery of all projects across our Beauty division and communicating broadly to align the entire infrastructure.
*Relocation assistance may be offered to candidates residing outside of the El Paso, TX area.
Our Beauty division is based in El Paso, Texas. Key Beauty brands include Hot Tools®, Revlon®, Pro Beauty Tools®, Sure®, Pert®, Infusium23®, Brut®, Ammens®, Sea Breeze®, Bed Head®, Karina®, and Gold ‘N Hot®. Under this portfolio of brands, products include hair appliances (dryers, straighteners, curling irons, hair-setters, hot-air brushes and shavers), brushes/combs, hair accessories, liquid hair styling products (treatments, shampoos, conditioners), skin care products, and deodorants/antiperspirants.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Enabling the delivery of business commitments and P&L by using project management tools and processes. Ensuring that all division team members are working cohesively and delivering on their commitments.
Director, Project Management Key Responsibilities:
The Director, Project Management will be an entrepreneurial minded expert with proven experience in successfully executing and managing a team based on the following pillars of focus:
• Project Tracking: Track all projects (and dependencies) to ensure that delivery is on time.
• Process Mapping and Governance: Ensure existing processes are understood and followed.
• Dashboards: Build executive dashboards to track project status (ideally in real time).
• Communication and Updates:Ensure that all team members are aware of other’s activities that may impact their deliverables.
• Vendor Management: Build a vendor RFQ/RFP and selection process. Monitor vendors and recommend when vendor changes are required.
• Planning processes:Build new processes to ensure maximum efficiency.
• Thought Leadership: Keep up-to-date, monitoring best in class processes and trends with the aim of driving best practices.
• Management: Lead two to three project managers or assistants as well as contractors, interns, freelancers and agencies as required.
Requirements For Consideration:
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required. MBA/MSMR/MMR a plus.
• 7+ years’ project management experience. Consumer products experience a plus.
• PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification or similar credentials.
• Experience using Lean, TQM, Six Sigma or similar.
• Experience with redesigning processes and leading change.
• Professional with proven leadership skills who is collaborative and communicative and maintains transparency.
• Self-starter that is a creative problem solver, proactive with managing up, managing down and driven by metrics.
• Exceptional follow-thru, attention to detail and hands on approach to proactively managing and directing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proven record of achieving goals plus managing direct reports and talent development.
• Superior written and verbal communication skills with ability to present ideas and information clearly.
• Forward thinking individual who seeks new digital approaches to lead our industry.
• Upbeat, personable, positive, can-do attitude.
• Knowledge of waterfall/stage-gate, agile, hybrid project management a plus.
• Up to 10% travel may be required.
