General Description of the Role
The primary role of the Director IT - US is to be the local IT Lead and business partner for the Campari US organization developing a strong and aligned technology roadmap supporting the US business growth plans. The US business organization includes both commercial (Sales & Marketing), Group Supply Chain as well as traditional business support functions such as HR, Legal and Finance. The Director IT – US ensures a strong partnership and alignment with both the US Business Stakeholders as well as the Global IT resources providing the project and/or maintenance support for US based projects. The role also must lead and motivate a team of US based help desk professionals to deliver excellent technical support with outstanding customer service, satisfaction and timeliness. This position has frequent contact with the Country Management team, users, direct reports, peers, and independent vendors. This role is the face of the global IT function for Campari America.
Key Responsibilities and Activities
PEOPLE/TEAM MANAGEMENT:
• Manage, prioritize work, hire, evaluate, coach and enhance the performance of the US based IT Service & Support Team
• Interact with Global IT resources in a collaborative way to enable clear understanding and communication of IT project updates etc.
STRATEGIC IT PLANNING:
• Lead the development of the US IT strategy to support the business needs for Campari America - US
• Act as the laision between the Country leadership team and local functions and the Global IT team to:
◦ Ensure a strong understanding of local IT opportunities and needs
◦ Effectively advocate for the US needs with the Global IT teams and planning processes
◦ Assess the availability of global IT options vs. local IT options, ensuring compliance to Global IT process and governance standards
◦ Assist with the coordination of activating the global applications to meet local needs
◦ Support the project management activities associated with global project implementations and act as the liaison to manage road blocks or issues affecting the timely activation of approved projects
• Partner with the local business leaders to ensure that business value is extracted from the relevant IT investments into the market
• Ensure the effective application of the Global IT governance process in Campari America – US
• Maintain a constant communication with Campari Group IT, supporting the demand of Campari America US
• Provide the Campari America Leadership Team with effective and proactive updates and reporting on IT related matters
• Monitor the evolution of technology and provide the organization with relevant level of information to support more effective decision making and business planning
• Proactively partner with Global IT and local business stakeholders to anticipate
General Service & Support
• Develop a strategy for the identification, selection and ongoing management of local IT suppliers & partners
• Responsible for driving the development and execution of the reporting of the function’s activities, KPIs and time allocation
• Update plans for new product/service releases, ensuring key stakeholder alignment
• Execute IT project plans as approved by lead teams providing timely updates and proactively resovling issues
• Drive the implementation of local standards and policies in conjunction with Campari Corporate group.
• Responsible for IT asset management (hardware, software, equipment)
• Manage eDiscovery, litigation support, data retention and other projects in collaboration with the Legal department. Act as IT liaison for the Legal department
Budget & Reporting
• Prepare, monitor and manage the IT budget
• Proactively provide budget updates and/or budget alternatives to meet ad hoc needs
Experience Required
• 7+ years’ experience in ITof which at least three years must be in the management of key stakeholder technology management
• Experience working with external service providers
• Experience working as a Business Partner mainly in the Commercial and Marketing / Consumer areas
Education / Professional Qualifications
Undergraduate degree in business management or engineering, computer science or related field
