The Director, Retail Customer Logistics has responsibility for the Walmart Supply Chain & Order Fulfillment activities as well as ownership of the analytics and training strategy and execution supporting our U.S. retailers. The Director will also have responsibility to influence strategies and leverage best practices for J&J across Walmart globally. Direct functional responsibilities within the Deliver supply chain include Customer Demand Mgmt, Order Management, Customer Logistics, analytics and training with indirect matrix responsibility to the revenue center of excellence. Additionally, this position will be an integrated member of the Walmart Customer Development team. With customer volume more than $2B per year, this role will support and enable the growth of topline and annual forecasted goals. The Director, Retail Customer Logistics will be required to work within a matrix structure to influence their indirect responsibilities across Distribution, Transportation, Supply Chain Planning, Trade Customization and Customer Development.
The Director, Retail Customer Logistics is accountable to improving the Customer Experience & will provide leadership and support to a diverse team of supply chain professionals in managing the following: Driving and supporting of joint value creation initiatives, key forecasting and demand planning processes in conjunction with Customer Development team, the customer and the Integrated Demand Planning process, revenue cycle efficiencies and end-to-end support of an optimal order cycle management. This individual will also identify synergies across their businesses while developing a strategic roadmap in alignment with their Cross-Functional Teams.
The Director, Retail Customer Logistics owns the customer relationship and penetration strategy. They will drive collaborative efforts to optimize efficiencies, enhance service as well as to ensure our end customer is enabled to purchase our product every day. The Director is responsible for leading the diagnostic assessment of the customer’s supply chain processes and practices to determine the appropriate analytical tools and solutions that will drive decisions and best in class results. The position will need to be comfortable working cross functionally and building a regional strategy. A proven ability to nurture strong and productive relationships at the Director and Vice-President level at retail customers is necessary. This Director will also be responsible for industry benchmarking and in championing insights back into the organization.
The candidate should have a proven track record in their commitment and delivery of team and individual development. This individual must demonstrate a passion for coaching, training and with experience in leading moderate to large size teams.
Qualifications
• This candidate must have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree. An MBA is preferred.
• A minimum of 10 years of business experience is required.
• Demonstrated experience in customer logistics, sales, planning and/or distribution is preferred.
• People management or supervisory experience is required. 5 years of team leadership experience within a large organization is preferred.
• Strong negotiation and influencing skills with the ability to drive results through a matrix structure is required.
• Experience within the Consumer sector is preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
• The ability to communicate across functional levels is required.
• Strong project management skills are required.
• MS Office proficiency, specifically with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project and PowerPoint is required. SAP knowledge preferred.
• Project Management certification is preferred.
• Process Excellence training or certification is preferred.
• The qualified candidate will have strong analytical and quantitative skills.
• This position is based in Rogers, AR, and will require up to 15% Domestic travel.
