Director, Contract Strategy and Integration (DCSI)
Johnson & Johnson Health Care Systems Inc., a member of Johnson & Johnson's Family of Companies, is currently recruiting for a Director, Contract Strategy and Integration (DCSI), reporting to the VP of the Contract Strategy and Management (CSM) group primarily located in Piscataway, NJ; with Field Base considerations in NA Region (US and Canada).
Johnson & Johnson Health Care Systems Inc. provides account management and customer support services to key health care customers, including hospital systems and group purchasing organizations, leading health plans, pharmacy benefit managers, and government health care institutions. The company also provides contract management, logistics and supply chain functions for the major Johnson & Johnson franchises.
Johnson & Johnson Customer & Logistics Services (CLS) is a global Supply Chain organization that supports operating units across all of the Johnson & Johnson Family of Companies. CLS strives to deliver an exceptional customer experience through leading critical customer facing-functions such as distribution and transportation. In addition, CLS oversees critical business enablers, including how we gather and manage supply chain master data, safe and secure supply chain practices, product identification standards, and market/channel access capabilities. CLS supports all three sectors of Johnson & Johnson: Medical Device & Diagnostics, Pharmaceutical, and Consumer Products. This team is represented in multiple countries, and continues to grow globally in both visibility and responsibility. The CLS team reports to Johnson & Johnson Supply Chain and partners closely with groups throughout the supply chain organization.
The Director of Contracting Strategy and Integration (DCSI) is responsible for working closely with internal and external stakeholders to understand acquisition, divestiture and other business development opportunities to prepare for and integrate new businesses and products into CSM and respective contracting centers of excellence as effectively as possible. These activities and capabilities will enable the regional business owners to implement and execute contracting strategies more efficiently and effectively for the new acquisition. Conversely, the DCSI will be the point person in the event of business divestitures and will be the liaison between appropriate stakeholders to ensure the smooth transition of the business or products out of J&J. The DCSI will work collaboratively with stakeholders to provide subject matter expertise for business process harmonization, process and data requirements and system capabilities for the appropriate integration.
Finally, the DCSI will be a contributing member of the Contract Strategy & Management Leadership Team.
Responsibilities:
Establish End-to-End Process Vision & Develop Process Roadmap
• Define and communicate a clear business and/or product acquisition, divestiture and integration process (End-to-End) vision within and across the operating model for contracting and contracting related services
• Develop a plan for the immediate integration of new businesses or products into the Contracting Center of Excellence framework and align to the regional model
• Stay abreast of process trends and leading practices occurring in J&J and the marketplace to inform strategic direction
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand business development objectives, product portfolio management, marketing and go-to-market strategies to integrate or divest businesses or products effectively and efficiently, to reduce transition times within the organization
• Stay abreast of and collaborate with other enterprise projects that may influence or affect contracting solutions, processes, policies and systems because of new businesses, products or divestitures
• Subject Matter Expert representing the Contracting Centers of Excellence during business/product acquisitions and divestitures
Prioritize & Secure Funding for Contracting COE Activities
• Collaborate with Business Development to fund contracting centers of excellence activities as part of the business/product acquisition and/or divestiture process
• Develop Acquisition/Divestiture playbook of contracting related activities and support during all phases of the business development process from due diligence through support for transitional services
• Implement on-boarding of new businesses or products into regional contracting model upon completion of the acquisition
Drive Process Improvements
• Champion and gain executive support for process redesign efforts driven by the needs of internal stakeholders
• Leverage existing processes and technologies to lower total cost of ownership across the enterprise
Promote Process-Oriented Culture
• Act as a key stakeholder to foster a culture which monitors and meets the needs of the business through process excellence and improvement
• Communicate effectively as a spokesperson for CSM and Contracting Centers of Excellence
• Build and maintain relationships at all levels throughout the organization
• Collaborate with peers and stakeholders to ensure processes are aligned and support each other
• Drive process policy setting working with peers in functional and Enterprise Business Services when necessary
• Lead CSM Strategic & Business Planning processes
• Lead effectively through times of crisis and ambiguity
Qualifications
• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree required; MBA and/or Advanced degree preferred
• Minimum of ten (10) years’ related business experience required
• Pharma and/or Medical Device experience preferred
• Experience working with global partners (i.e. cross-function, cross-company, etc) preferred
• Project management experience and the ability to lead major projects preferred
• Finance certifications (CPA), PM certifications (PMP/FPX) or Lean/Six Sigma/PE certification preferred
• Understanding contracting continuum/business development knowledge is required
• Contracting systems and software experience (i.e., Model N/Revitas) preferred
• Strong knowledge of MSOffice (including SharePoint, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access) preferred
• Experience with Acquisition and Divestitures/Mergers preferred
• Position primarily located in Piscataway, NJ; with Field Base considerations in NA Region (US and Canada) with up to 50% domestic and international travel required
