Johnson & Johnson Health Care Systems Inc., a member of Johnson & Johnson's Family of Companies, is currently recruiting for a Director, Commercial Contracting Quality and Process, reporting to the VP of the Contract Strategy and Management (CSM) group, primarily located in Piscataway, NJ; with Field Base considerations in NA Region (US and Canada).

Johnson & Johnson Customer & Logistics Services (CLS) is a global Supply Chain organization that supports operating units across all the Johnson & Johnson Family of Companies. CLS strives to deliver an exceptional customer experience through leading critical customer facing-functions such as distribution and transportation. In addition, CLS oversees critical business enablers, including how we gather and manage supply chain master data, safe and secure supply chain practices, product identification standards, and market/channel access capabilities. CLS supports all three sectors of Johnson & Johnson: Medical Device & Diagnostics, Pharmaceutical, and Consumer Products. This team is represented in multiple countries, and continues to grow globally in both visibility and responsibility. The CLS team reports to Johnson & Johnson Supply Chain and partners closely with groups throughout the supply chain organization.
The Director of Commercial Contracting Quality and Process leads and drives the commercial contracting quality program to ensure business practices and activities follow J&J internal guidelines, regulations and requirements by providing oversight, direction, guidance, and support to the business and senior management. This position serves as a strategic business partner providing guidance to commercial contracting business partners.
Additionally, the Director of Commercial Contracting Quality and Process will be an active and contributing member of the Contract Strategy and Management Leadership Team.
Responsibilities:
Establish End-to-End Process Vision & Develop Process Roadmap
• Define, implement and communicate a clear process (End-to-End) vision across operating companies on commercial contracting quality and quality processes
• Stay abreast of process trends and leading practices occurring in J&J and the marketplace to inform strategic direction
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand business contracting strategies, processes and systems to ensure alignment with appropriate guidance documents, SOP’s and work instructions.
• Implement a process for monitoring commercial contract quality and processes, conducting risk assessments to identify gaps and develop plans for remediation
• Subject Matter Expert representing the Contracting Centers of Excellence for commercial contracting quality and process
• Drive process policy setting, collaborating with peers in functional and Enterprise Business Services when necessary
Drive Process Improvements
• Implement a plan for continuous improvement of commercial contract quality & controls, including metrics, business improvement activities and service levels.
• Advise senior management and assigned business units of potential business risks, related incidents and investigations, trends, root causes, recommend and implement appropriate action plans.
• Implement a commercial contracting quality system, processes, guidelines, standard operating procedures and work instruction
Promote Process-Oriented Culture
• Act as a key stakeholder to foster a culture which monitors and meets the needs of the business through process excellence and improvement
• Communicate effectively as a spokesperson for CSM and Contracting Centers of Excellence
• Build and maintain relationships at all levels throughout the organization
• Collaborate with peers and stakeholders to ensure processes are aligned and support each other
• Drive process policy setting working with peers in functional and Enterprise Business Services leadership where necessary
• Lead effectively through times of crisis and ambiguity
Qualifications
• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree required; MBA and/or Advanced degree preferred
• Minimum of ten (10) years’ related business experience required
• Pharma and/or Medical Device experience preferred
• Experience working with global partners (i.e. cross-function, cross-company, etc.) preferred
• Project management experience and the ability to lead major projects preferred
• Finance certifications (CPA), PM certifications (PMP/FPX) or Lean/Six Sigma/PE certification preferred
• Proven track record and delivery of project and business objectives
• Experience in implementing quality systems control for processes is required
• Commercial and government/regulatory experience required
• Contracting systems and software experience (i.e., Model N/Revitas) preferred
• Strong knowledge of MSOffice (including SharePoint, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access) required
• Position primarily located in Piscataway, NJ; with Field Base considerations in NA Region (US and Canada) with up to 50% domestic and international travel required
