Positioned for our next stage of growth, Pilgrim’s Pride recognizes the value the National Account Director brings to the team and just as importantly to our customers. Responsible for managing the sales activities at multiple National Accounts, this is an exciting position where you will lead and grow your respective accounts by executing the strategy and goals that are aligned with Pilgrim Pride’s vision, financial health and that are in balance with customer needs and promote sales growth and customer satisfaction
Roles & Responsibilities
• Sales leader responsible for multiple National Accounts with goal of growing each to >10MM lbs annually. Overall portfolio goal of >30MM Lbs by 2020
• Responsible for face-to-face execution of Pilgrim’s Sales and Marketing Strategies against a defined list of target National Accounts to grow the Pilgrim’s prepared business
• Own and manage the National Account portfolio by developing and delivering customer level annual sales plans. Understand the impact of sales and financial decisions on the company & the national account’s P&L
• Penetrate target customers to truly understand their wants and needs
• Cultivate and maintain effective business relationships with executive decision makers in large/national accounts and build strong relationships at National Acccunts cross functionally including culinary, R&D, Purchasing, corporate leadership etc
• Develop conceptual business-building propositions that add value to customers beyond a Product and a Price
• Work closely with Customer Marketing Resource(s) to differentiate Pilgrim’s from competition by being viewed as channel expert and consultant
• Collaborate with marketing resources and the sales leadership team to define overall sales strategy, and to develop solutions responsive to the National Account's business
• Apply restaurant research insights and trends and collaborate with Marketing /R&D to provide compelling solutions based on the company's business strengths
• Validate new high potential customer opportunities utilizing data and marketing strategies
• Maintain and grow existing customers by selling the Pilgrim’s Way – a Principled and processional Selling Process
• Develop promotional plans for target customer, including requesting trade funding / price deviations / etc. that will return satisfactory ROI
• Contribute to New Product opportunity identification for target accounts
• Product updates to Sales leadership on opportunities and issues
• Forecast significant volume increases or decreases to sales leadership and demand planning
• Must actively engage in the weekly sales pipeline process and leverage account planning
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
• College degree preferred. Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university.
• Ten years of top level sales experience
• Proven experience in building and maintaining business relationships with National Account customers
Education & Experience
• This position requires ability to travel. Must be able to fly or drive from city to city.
• Computer skill knowledge of internet navigation, Microsoft software knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint required. Skills to assimilate to company computer system requirements.
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
• Interpersonal skills to interact with diverse groups of individuals within and outside of the company
