The Global Brand Protection organization is responsible for delivering end-to-end protection that safeguards patients, consumers, customers and the integrity of our brands and reports into the Chief Commercial Officer. The position will have direct reports from & located in the US, EMEA and Asia Pacific. These Brand Protection and Audit managers, will be the local coordination for their region and part of the newly formed Global Brand Protection organization for OneTouch.
The formation of the Global Brand Protection (GBP) team is one of the ways LifeScan is addressing the issue of counterfeiting and other forms of illicit trade. GBP is a business discipline which provides expertise to proactively combat these concerns with our business partners. The GBP team is to provide brand protection capability to ensure a safe and secure supply chain that safeguards patients, consumers, customers and the integrity of our brands.
The Diabetes market is often impacted by counterfeit, diversion and other fraud. The GBP program has a mission to proactively protect patients and our business from counterfeit, diversion and other illicit trade.
Critical to the successful execution of this mission, the Director, Global Brand Protection will lead and support the GBP program for LifeScan with responsibility for driving strategy and ensuring consistent execution with the (3) Brand Protection & Audit Managers, one for each key region; NA, EMEA & APAC.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Global Brand Protection Incident Management. Involves protecting patients, products and our business by proactively leading cross functional/regional management incidents of counterfeit, illegal diversion and other issues that could impact LifeScan.
• Global Market Monitoring: Proactively identify both current and potential threats to minimize the impact to people with diabetes and JJDS by leveraging serialization and other product protection technologies across market monitoring tactics with the ultimate goal of terminating counterfeit, diversion and other fraud.
• Program development and support: These positions involve strong collaboration with cross functional and regional stakeholders to develop and execute the LifeScan Global Brand Protection business plan. Base business support and miscellaneous activities includes collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to mine and act on concerns identified in commercial data. Development and maintenance of the program budget, collaboration with business partners to insure implementation of business plan tactics. Communications development and execution of ongoing internal and external communications to protect people with diabetes, create deterrence, awareness and drive compliance.
• A broad range of program development and execution responsibilities including global incident management, market monitoring, data analytics and support of commercial strategies to prevent and manage risk, along with legal and enforcement approaches. The role will also be responsible for leading communications internally to senior leaders and other stakeholders across the business, as well as externally.
• Ability to develop business cases based on actionable, fact based insight. This is a critical role as it must serve as a hub to coordinate, collaborate and execute across multiple global functional areas.
Qualifications
• A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree is required, an MBA or advanced degree is preferred
• A minimum of ten (10) plus years of related experience in BP and or Diabetes, is required
• Exceptional business partnering and communications skills are required
• Ability to multi-task with a strong bias for results and solutions is required
• Strong Leadership skills in developing a team is required
• Ability to influence both senior leaders and line management without formal authority, be detail-oriented while maintaining a big-picture perspective and maintain flexibility in a dynamic environment are required
• Experience across other functional areas preferred; particularly in the areas of Marketing, Sales, and Operations, but also appreciate Compliance, Finance and Legal backgrounds
• International experience is preferred
• Prior Brand Protection experience is preferred
• Medical Device, Pharmaceutical or Consumer experience is preferred
• Proven project management, written and oral communication skills is required
• Ability to work in an unstructured, matrixed and fast paced environment across multiple functions and regions of varying cultures and priorities is required
• This position requires approximately up to 30% domestic and international travel
