You will bring your exceptional skills as a scientist and global leader to this Senior Director of Global Nutrition role! In this highly visible position you represent the foremost expertise in nutrition and regulatory sciences and as part of the Global Innovation and Nutrition Organization, lead all necessary initiatives in these areas to build and deliver solutions for the platforms, technical domains, programs and projects, for the Kellogg Company in the US and Globally.
Your ability to estimate and identify relevant trends in science & technology at the intersection of future consumer needs will help create new growth opportunities for the Kellogg Company while propelling your career and building strong leaders.
HERE’S A TASTE OF WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
• Building and leading - All necessary nutrition and regulatory science-based initiatives to deliver business opportunities and technical solutions that successfully grow the business, sustain and protect the reputation of the Kellogg Company in the US and globally.
• Successfully identify and translate scientific data into business actions and plans to guide and grow a stronger nutrition research and technology agenda to help enable the execution of successful strategic business plans.
• Leading and executing! You are responsible for leading and executing strategic scientific influencing plans with external audiences (e.g. government, regulatory, scientific, academic communities, NGO’s, etc.) on behalf of the Company’s positions and interests.
• Strong representation - Represents the company externally in US and global organizations related to nutrition science and research, regulatory and scientific affairs.
• Partnering effectively with key functions in the Organizations, including Innovation, Legal, R&D, Marketing, Corporate Communications and Government Relations. All of these activities, plans and strategies are carried out in concert with the group of expert nutrition and regulatory scientists reporting to this role.
YOUR RECIPE FOR SUCCESS
Required:
• A PhD or equivalent degree from a globally recognized and highly regarded University in Nutritional Sciences, Food & Nutrition Science or a Health related field along with significant industry or combined academic/industry experience after PhD multi-national Food or Nutrition CPG Companies
• Scientific publications in top peer-reviewed journals
• Demonstrated capability to work effectively across all levels of the organization and around the globe, both internally and externally to Kellogg
• Recognized by the external nutrition and regulatory scientific community as both a credible scientist and as a creative leader
• Leadership and communication skills to function effectively as a project manager, planner, coordinator, communicator and scientific expert.
Bonus Points:
• Background in physiology, biochemistry, metabolism, and statistics, as well as an understanding of the role of nutrition science in informing nutrition and public health policy
• Work experience outside of the US in leadership roles and multilingual skills. Have experience first-hand with other cultures around the world
• Mixed work experience in industry and scientific research, with majority of career growth in industry.
