Position Details
Reports to:Vice President, Quality
SUMMARY
The Regional Director of Manufacturing Quality will monitor and evaluate Quality performance, identify improvement opportunity areas, develop and implement prevention strategies and mechanisms, and coordinate the implementation of new quality policies, systems, and procedures across the assigned SSB Region.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Monitor, evaluate, and drive improvement in Quality performance for the assigned SSB Region manufacturing sites
◦ Continuously evaluate plant quality metrics, identify improvement opportunity areas at each plant, and develop size of the prize cost estimates for each
◦ Coordinate with plant personnel to verify opportunity areas, develop projects to drive improvements, and provide external support for project execution
• Develop strategies and lead prevention focused implementation projects to drive region or network wide improvements in manufacturing quality
◦ Utilize region wide quality metrics to identify multi plant or network wide improvement opportunities, and develop size of the prize cost estimates for each
◦ Develop prevention based strategies and lead execution projects to address opportunities and drive network wide improvements
• Support new product launch
◦ Develop methods to insure new products are launched successfully into the manufacturing network
• Coordinate the implementation of new quality policies, systems, and procedures across the assigned SSB Region
◦ Actively participate in the development of new network wide quality policies and procedures, develop and execute rollout plans for the assigned region
• Manage Regional Quality Engineers
◦ Lead, develop and mentor quality professionals throughout the assigned SSB region in the above areas

KEY COMPETENCIES/TECHNICAL SKILLS
• Strong project management skills with a demonstrated ability to complete complex projects within prescribed timeframes
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation, and conflict resolution skills
• Possess tact, maturity, flexibility, and a high energy level
• Comfortable performing multi-faceted projects in conjunction with normal activities
• Experience advising senior management
• Manufacturing methods, processes and technology
• Shop floor/manufacturing/engineering of finished products
• Strong orientation towards data driven & financial analysis.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE/ WORK ENVIRONMENT
• 10+ years of quality or manufacturing experience
• 5+ years managing product quality within a product development and manufacturing environment
• Bachelor's Degree Materials Science Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Textile Engineering, or related engineering degree required.
• Shop floor/manufacturing/engineering of finished products required
• Strong orientation towards data driven & financial analysis.
• Able to identify, develop, and lead projects independently
• Able to excel in a team environment working internally and externally
• Critical thinking and problem solving skills are essential
• Up to 40% travel
• Work is primarily sedentary in nature
• Cross Functional Teams
• Strong analytical and project oriented
