Retail Operation Director, Walmart

You’ll put our customers at the heart of our business. By building strong relationships with every customer, big or small, you’ll help Mondelēz International become the supplier of choice and ensure we deliver world-class execution of our business plans in every store.
This role is designed to penetrate Walmart’s Regional and Market Manager level operational leadership team to help drive superior retail execution through the selling of for their national or warehouse geographic customer business team (CBT) and serve as a single point of contact to ensure collaboration and alignment with retail initiatives as determined by the Sales Ops & Strategy organization. Superior in-store execution (e.g., F&D conversion, shelving and distribution) will ultimately result in increased revenue.
Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities (% of Time)
Administration (25%)
• Serves as the single point of contact for Walmart CBT’s merchandising and tactical communication to Region Vice Presidents, Region Directors and District Managers
• Responsible for developing material and facilitating monthly Regional JBP meeting (conference calls)
• Written and verbal communication requirements includes the timely follow-up to both internal and external customer requests and needs
• Proven ability to create sellsheets and PowerPoint presentations to assist peers , field sales organization and Walmart Retail Lead in the ideation of sales tools and materials
• Enter executional results on team scorecards in timely manner
• Partipate and play a leadership role in weekly team conference calls
Customer Calls, In store Execution and selling (70%)
• Meeting with assigned Walmart Regional Manager once per MDLZ quarter
• Meeting with Walmart Market Managers in assigned geography
• Must a demonstrate a proven ability to penetrate customer organizations at the highest level
• Selling Store of Community and Children Miracle Network incremental revenue events to Walmart operational leadership regional
• Working directly with Retail (in the market) and CBT to ensure execution of POP and Home-office approved initiatives
• Work collaboratively with CBT on retail priorities and available capacity through workload modeling
• Work collaboratively with RPLT to coordinate appropriate sector resources including merchandising, POS, selling tools across customer base
• Attends Retail X meetings to present CBT objectives and gain alignment with SR’s around priorities
• Attends CBT planning meetings to ensure alignment of Retail resources on a consistent basis

Qualifications/Abilities:
Selling Skills:
• Must have a minimum of 5 years CPG retail selling experience
• Must have a minimum of 2 years CPG customer responsibility at retail operations or client HQ level
• Candidate should have career portfolio constructed of major customer selling achievements that reflect a thorough understanding of how the business operates
• Created customer-focused strategies/plans that have drove incremental revenue, best-class-retail innovation and strong integrated customer influence.
• Specific knowledge, marketing experience and track record of leveraging the distinctions and customer advantages of a DSD go-to market organizations
• Understands the key business drivers of a DSD organization; DSD/CPG background highly preferred
• Candidates background should demonstrate a proven track record of building customer relationships and penetration throughout the customer organizational hierarchy
Understanding of effective communication medium
• Functional excellence and mastery of verbal and written communication
• Has the communication ability to align and motivate non-direct reports to build a sense of urgency and clear biased toward action against key priories
• Craft effective presentations and selling material
Strong understanding of retail environment and customers
• Has a minimum of 2 years calling on Walmart operators (or equivalent national account) at store-level and market-level operators or 2 years calling on a regional customer at HQ level

• Has a proven track-record of translating customer strategies into plans that can be effective executed
• Working knowledge of how to create common mind-set with large CPG sales organizations
