Position Summary:
We are a fast-paced, start-up-feel group of talented inventors, engineers, researchers, and designers, reporting directly into the Connected Car Division. The team aims to be the most forward-thinking group in the company and is focused on leveraging future user experiences (UX) and displays, connecting the dots between cutting-edge technologies, deep research, rapid end-to-end prototyping, and bringing that into products. Every day, we challenge ourselves to turn science fiction into reality.
This role is responsible for the overall program delivery of multiple products, POCs and pursuits and concepts including advanced displays, advanced interfaces (haptics, gestures, touch, and cameras), head-up displays, and occupant monitoring solutions. This organization will be the primary internal and external customer contact regarding budget, schedule, resource allocation, and development issues. This team will be responsible for planning and managing multiple end-to-end projects. This includes product development, testing, fabrication and the readiness of manufacturing facilities. They will maintain customer relationships and have overall ownership of the schedule, scope, and budget for all projects.
Job Responsibilities:
• Own and maintain the budget, scope, schedule, resource allocation and delivery of all projects, POCs, pursuits, and programs
• Build and manage relationships with internal stakeholders, cross-functional teams, third-party vendors suppliers and external customers
• Responsible for evaluation and development of all direct reports
• Manage project risks proactively, identify risks and coordinate meetings with multi-discipline functions to address risks before they become issues.
• Evaluate project management processes and metrics to track and measure project success
• Provide project status updates via a standard template. Represent and be the main point of contact for all projects and programs with the UX/UI team to senior leadership during program, quality and operations reviews.
• Lead program adherence following standard Harman processes and maintain program and customer related documentation.
• Be the primary escalation point for both internal and external program communications for the dedicated customer base.
• Set direction and influence cross-department engagement for program execution and drive synchronization across multiple program teams.
• Responsible for communicating the requirements within the organization and interface with multiple groups within to ensure customer’s requirement expectations are being met.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science Engineering, Physics, Optics Engineering or a related field such as User Experience
• 15+ years of experience in a product development, program management role with at least 5 yrs with the responsibility for advanced technology products development and delivery.
• Broad technical background and previous work experience with general knowledge of advanced displays, advanced interfaces (haptics, gestures, touch, and cameras), full-windshield head-up displays, and occupant monitoring solutions.
• Proven project management experience in technology, consumer electronics, or automotive industry.
• A self-starter and strong team player who can successfully navigate the organization to reach business goals.
• Must be able to articulate vision and influence decision-making outcomes with internal stakeholders, external suppliers, and the customer.
• Proven and effective communication, analytical, judgment, initiative and execution skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Master’s degree in engineering, business, or related field
• Experience in an automotive OEM, tier-1 or tier-2 supplier of displays and user interface components.
• International management and cross-functional coordination experience with teams in Asia and Europe
• Experience managing external and internal vendors/partners.
• Ability to communicate advanced and complex concepts and ideas persuasively and concisely to all levels of the business including creation and presentation of compelling content.
• Keep abreast of technology trends and provides advice on the adoption of technology for new products.

• Willingness to travel ~30% of the time.
• Willingness to work in the Novi, MI office.
