Position Title:Director of Sales, Table Top
Reports to:Director of Retail Sales and Marketing
Location:Greenville, SC
Job Summary:
The Director of Sales will be responsible for developing and managing a team of National Account Managers and all current strategic and business initiatives to achieve sales and margin goals for the Lifoam Retail & TableTop product lines in all channels of distribution.
This Director's role will require a strong hands-on understanding and specific visionary, operational, and logistic background to set both short and long- term strategic vision and customer development focus to keep the business viable and growing. The Director of Sales will also have responsibility over the retail customer service department.
Job Duties:
• Meet/exceed all assigned monthly, quarterly and annual sales volume and margin goals by brand and in total
• Achieve all general objectives and maintain or gain leadership position by initiating flexible/profitable business plans, bringing innovation to product/promotional/merchandising efforts and gaining additional internal marketing/logistic and packaging support where needed
• Understand from the view point of the customer all general channel goals/objectives, how they measure progress, and how the Lifoam Retail & TabeTop businesses tracks in relation to those objectives
• Develop and submit business-building proposals (including unique and new product/display configurations) that increase revenue, and develop brand/category growth for both individual customers and in general for the different distribution channels
• Effectively utilize MEI/SAP to monitor and control all sales activity and any reallocation with follow up business opportunity identification and plan recommendations. Gain a general understanding and Track and resolve all sales-related customer deductions in a timely and efficient manner
• Effectively utilize forecasting processes -S&OP process- and all internal sales walk formats to continuously improve the forecasts accuracy by the sales team
• Build and lead the general channel effort through the analysis and understanding of shopper insights and data mining (POS) facts with an understanding of relevant mass/club metrics and influencing factors which contribute to the growth of the account and channel
• Penetrate each general channel account beyond the buyer level and build a collaborative relationship that enables consistent, timely and honest dialogue between the company and the account
• Work cross functionally at the Divisional level, including:
◦ Customer Development and Marketing to develop business plans that provide insight and sales perspective for promotional plans/ideas for new item development and new market penetration (international)
◦ Finance and Logistics to ensure alignment of objectives and effective management of business issues as they arise
◦ Operations to maintain a high degree of forecast accuracy so supply chain is closely connected to all forecasts in relation to current inventory levels
• Conduct regular and ongoing post analysis of all promotional and new packaging/item efforts to ensure the most effective and efficient sales effort is maintained
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships within all departments, the Corporation and the community; maintaining professional competence, knowledge and skill necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities
• Complete any other duties as assigned by the management team

• Requires regular attendance to perform essential elements as contained herein between the assigned start and end times for work

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelors Degree Required
• A minimum of eight to ten years` progressive experience in sales with direct management of cross functional personnel, including sales representatives, sales analysts and logistics personnel.
• Experience working cross functionally in a corporate environment.
• Experience with principles of category management and data-based conceptual selling.
• Experience with sales, reporting and trade tools (e.g. Retail Link, SAP-BI, MEI).
Preferred Qualifications:
• High level of financial skills to effectively balance between sales and expenses to deliver operating income objectives
• High level of self-awareness and ability to react accordingly in various business/social situations.
• High level of understanding of the CPG industry, staying current on marketplace trends, technology and shopper insights
• High level of communication skills, including effective presentation, verbal and listening skills.
